The weeks have flown since our return to school in late August. Halloween is upon us and Seo na Nollag has been mentioned. Our pupils have been very busy over the past couple of weeks. Our new Naiona in have settled into their primary school life and seem to be enjoying their early school days. Our pupils are very busy on the sporting fields and I would like to welcome Noel O Brien who visits on a Monday and a Tuesday to teach the skills of Games. Even our Naiona in have got in on the act this time. Well done to Fermoy GAA for this initiative. On Wednesday the 26th.of October our super girls team won the Final of Sciath na Scol at Pa irc Uí Rinn. It was a great occa- sion for the whole school. Our first Sciath na Scol win. First of many we hope. Halloween can be a dangerous period and we urge parents to be vigilant. Be careful around bonfires. Make sure that children are supervised at all times and warn them of the potential dangers at Halloween. The National Road Safety Authority have also asked us to point out to parents to drive with care on our roads and ensure that children are always wearing safety belts while travelling in the car no matter how short the journey is. Our brand new state of the art school is now firmly taking shape. Department of Education officials and Rhatigans have been very busy and are telling us that the target date for completion is the 21st. Of December 2016. We are hoping to be on the move in January 2017. What a magnificent structure it is turning out to be. Twenty four class- rooms, a spacious PE Hall, Ancillary Rooms and offices as well as five play yards outside. It has been a long time coming. The founders in 1984 always believed that the school would be the success it is today. It has come about due to the excellent work of the staff and the continued support of the parent body. The New School Action Group formed two years ago put on the pressure and resulted in the rapid building of the school. Well done to all as we look forward to the historic move.
