Damien Nunes Michael Hainey SEE ALL Jason Chen Jim Moore This week we're bringing you from-the-gut interviews with Lisa Cohen some of menswear's biggest names at New York Fashion Madeline Weeks Ted Stafford Week. No canned responses; no cribbing from press Will Welch releases. Just us shooting the shit with some of our favorite shot-callers in fashion. Next up, we've got newlywed—and SITES WE LIKE all-around gentleman—Simon Spurr. Advanced Style Artkrush I heard you just got married back in September. Where’d you have The Antiquated the ceremony? Mindset A Time To Get At St. Paul’s Chapel on ’s campus. It’s stunning, like a Backyard Bill special little retreat. The whole event was kind of crazy because I had my The Brooklyn friend’s wedding two weeks before and then our fashion presentation the week Circus before. How’d you make the cuts? The Fulton Critic Our rule was if you got stuck in a corner with them for ten minutes, would you Fashion As a 2nd be ok talking to that person? [laughs] Language Gridskipper That’s a pretty good standard. Where did you get her ring? Hodinkee Well, I adored my grandparents and when their estate was broken up, I asked HotelChatter HighSnobiety for only two things: my grandmother’s engagement ring and my grandfather’s Hypebeast dog tags from WWII. They were the two things that were closest to them at Ivy Style their highs and their lows. So she wears that ring and I wear the dog tags. Jak & Jil Blog Jake Davis Jalopnik JJJJound Josh Spear Kempt Lifehacker Luxist Mister Mort The Moment Monocle Nerd Boyfriend So, the bachelor party—you don’t strike me as the kind of guy that Pop Candy is into all-night ragers. How rowdy did it get? The Pursuit Aesthetic [laughs] Um…there were a few 6am finishes. It was about 10 of us and we went Racked to Miami for a weekend. I got nicknamed Saint Spurr down there though. Even The Sartorialist though temptation was put in front of me, I assure you it was not taken! The Selby The Selvedge Yard Where did you and Justine honeymoon? Selectism Well, a couple of days before the wedding up at Justine’s family’s country Stereogum Street Etiquette house, her mother gave us a six-day trip to Guatemala. We went to Lake Atitlán Style.com and stayed in this six-bedroom eco-lodge, Laguna Lodge. No one else was Style Salvage staying there, so we had the staff to ourselves. There was no TV, very little Superfuture English spoken. We explored, went to different villages, and we hiked a Urban Flea volcano, which is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. It was fantastic. Valet Vulture Wallpaper We Are The Market Wired

That sounds great. One last question: you’re a thoughtful guy. Any advice for last minute Valentine’s gifts? Don’t go for the obvious, like lingerie. I always like scrapbooking, and it doesn’t cost much. Get a photo album and print out tons of pictures of things from the past year. The biggest tip, though, is to start listening now for next Valentines.
