KYB Americas Corporation is growing and we're seeking a Direct Materials Buyer to join our team! Responsibilities: Solicit quotes/offers from suppliers in line with company objectives to determine best options and propose solutions. Learn how to search for and audit potential suppliers as new partners, and how to negotiate maximum reductions with current suppliers. Leverage KYB global footprint to find globally competitive suppliers. Continuously improve, process, and deliver conforming quality products and services to customers. Project Management – Track progress and meet overall deadline of projects. Follow-up on order placement for timely delivery of goods and services to ensure supplier meets deliverables. Must travel to suppliers to maintain open issues log and resolve those issues in a timely manner. International travel may be required. Contributes to the development and implementation of supplier strategies, policies and departmental budget. Complete all necessary paperwork / sourcing approval to bring on new suppliers and new programs. Present the purpose and the status of projects in a clear and organized manner. Maintains and manages a commodity based list of key suppliers, and supplier scorecards. Liaison between the supplier and company departments. Must thrive in both an unpredictable and with mundane follow-up. Participate actively in Cross Functional Team (CFT) meetings as well as purchasing meetings. Effectively schedule and coordinate meetings to make decisions and keep deadlines. Strive for 100% OTD from suppliers. Develop and maintain strong relationships with counterparts in appropriate countries. 1 Human Resources Department Update daily, weekly, monthly reports and purchasing tools in a timely manner while maintaining 100% data accuracy. Participate in Annual Business Meeting, Annual Price Review, and Implement Purchasing Policy and / or develop Commodity Strategies as assigned. Other duties assigned by immediate Assistant Manager or Manager on an as needed basis. Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field is required from an accredited institution. 4-6 years of related experience may substitute for a college diploma. Minimum of 1 year of cross-functional business experience in Supply Chain / Purchasing required. Experience in strategic purchasing is required. Must have experience with contract negotiations / writing. Strong analytical and communication skills required. Understanding and experience with Microsoft Office, including: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Automotive Experience preferred. QAD Enterprise Application Experience preferred.
