Biographical Sketch

Edwin Walter Howe was born in San Francisco, California, on 9 December 1901, to Walter Clark Howe (born 1876) and Alice G. Towle (1875-1922). He married Eugenia Mercanti (1901-1998) and they had two sons: William Hugh Howe (1928-2009) and George T. Howe (1930-2013). When he registered for the draft in 1941, he listed his occupations as landlord and builder. He died in Ottawa, Kansas on 30 August 1973.

Scope and Content Note

This collection contains a series of letters from Edwin W. Howe to Mrs. John B. Mason, Secretary of the Haverhill Historical Society, about his family history and some Howe family genealogy charts and notes. He was living in Ottawa, Kansas, at the time.
