After an impressive freshman start by any measure, Terry Brown pieced together the best four-year career in program history, powered by his breakout sophomore season in which he set then-program records in goals, points and shots. In addition to a pair of first-team All-America seasons at the NAIA level, the striker TERRY BROWN was named to the NCCAA All-America team twice, including a pair of NCCAA National All-Tournament teams. To this day, Brown holds program records in points, goals, game-winning goals, assists, shots ALL-AMERICA FIRST TEAM attempted, shots per game (4.84), penalty kicks made and total games played. During his four seasons, 1992 · 1993 Brown helped JBU post a 64-19-2, including three NCCAA national tournaments, highlighted by a national runner-up finish in 1990, and the Golden Eagles’ second-ever trip to the NAIA National Championships in 1993.

Virgil Cannon, John Brown’s lone All-America defender, built a sterling four-year career which was capped off by a season that not only saw him post personal bests in scoring, but was part of a back line that limited opponents to 1.96 goals per game. In 2000, the Golden Eagles posted a 14-8-0 record, finished 7-3-0 in the VIRGIL CANNON Sooner Athletic - a second-place finish, and made an appearance in the Sooner Athletic tournament semi- finals as well as the NAIA Regional VI finals, both of which runs were halted by juggernaut sixth-ranked ALL-AMERICA SECOND TEAM St. Gregory’s (Okla.). Named a four-time Sooner Athletic All-Star, Cannon also excelled in the classrom by 1998 earning back-to-back NAIA Academic All-America honors in his final two seasons.

Fifth on the all-time program scoring record list, Glenroy Corbin helped cement his 1985 NAIA All-America third team honors in 1985 by guiding the Golden Eagles to an 11-4-2 record, including a 1-0 double-over- time win over rival Bendictine (Kan.) in the NAIA Area Playoffs before bowing out to powerhouse Rockhurst GLENROY CORBIN (Ill.) in the first round of the NAIA National Championships. Despite a loss in JBU’s first-ever appearance at the national tournament, Corbin’s four game-winners and 80 shots earned him John Brown’s first-ever ALL-AMERICA THIRD TEAM All-America nomination. Additionally, Corbin landed All-America status from the NCCAA in 1985 and 1986, 1985 including a spot on the NCCAA National All-Tournament team in 1984 and 1985. During his four years, JBU captured back-to-back NCCAA titles in 1983 and 1984, going 5-0-0 at the NCCAA Championships.

Sitting second in the all-time scoring list, Leo Peirano finished his career as JBU’s second-ever All-America first team honoree. The four-time Sooner Athletic all-conference selection had a breakout year in 2000, where he set program single-season records in both points (72) and goals (32). Still the holder of the all- LEO PEIRANO time career records of points per game (2.54) and goals per game (1.03) Peirano also landed All-America third team honors in 1999 and 2001 as the Golden Eagles finished 45-30-3 of his four years. Also a three- ALL-AMERICA FIRST TEAM time All-Region earner, Peirano claimed JBU’s only Sooner Athletic Offensive Player of the year in 2000, 2000 alongside the conference’s Player of the Year accolades.
