WELCOME & SERVICE INTRODUCTION

LAMENT FOR GEORGE FLOYD It Is Enough R. DeAndre Johnson

1.There are no words that can contain The depth of sorrow, grief and pain That mothers, sons, and all exclaim, eleison!

2.“It is enough!”, the prophets cry Yet sill black men are doomed to die By those who wish to vilify: Kyrie eleison!

3.It is enough! We cannot wait! No more excuse for bias, hate! Your savagery we cannot take: Christ have mercy!

4.It is enough! We cannot breathe! Will you stand there and watch us bleed? Are you not moved by cries and pleas? Christ have mercy!

5. No! No more death! It is enough! No more dead sons! It is enough! No! No more tears for lives cut short: Chirst have mercy!

6 .O my soul, it aches and yearns For a day when passions burn For others with deep love, concern: Kyrie eleison!

7.There are no words that can contain The depth of wounds our souls sustain Each time a grieving heart exclaims: Kyrie eleison!

PENTECOST READING Kim Batchelor

What a gift is a tongue of flame, A blaze of words to warm hearts and stir minds. A manifestation of wisdom to stoke the common good.

Discerning words. Prophetic Words.

A spirit quenches the thirst and douses for a while the fervor. The time will come when it returns again to stir the air and call forth the flash of light to speak.

PRAYER

HYMN Sing a New Church NETTLETON

Summoned by the God who made us rich in our diversity, gathered in the name of Jesus, richer still in unity:

Refrain: Let us bring the gifts that differ, and, in splendid, varied ways, sing a new Church into being, one in faith and love and praise.

Bring the hopes of every nation; bring the art of every race. Weave a song of peace and justice; let it sound through time and space. Refrain

Draw together at one table all the human family; shape a circle ever wider and a people ever free. Refrain
