The group phase once again proved that Europe’s top-flight is the place to watch the very best in our sport with a series of thrilling matches starring the handball elite. Such was quality of handball on show, the group phase once again was a massive hit with fans across the world. Once the curtain came down on the group phase, EHF Champions League content had earned a digital reach of 130 million on digital platforms. Meanwhile, new content distribution implemented this season for clubs and stakeholders saw 50 million impressions outside of the EHF-owned channels, including more than 20 million video views. With 29 television broadcasters regularly screening EHF Champions League Men group phase matches – we look forward to seeing even more top-level handball on our screens as we enter the exciting play-offs. One look at the line-up for the play-offs already sends shivers down the spine with a number high- profile matches which will decide the quarter-finals. THW Kiel, who dramatically clinched last season’s title after victory in Cologne in December, enter the play-offs with a mouth-watering meeting against MOL-Pick Szeged in one of the ties of the round. Barça finished runners-up to Kiel three months ago but in this season’s competition they have been unstoppable and, quite literally, unbeatable. The Spanish giants ended the group phase with a perfect 28 points from their 14 games and go into their meeting with Elverum Handball full of confidence. SG Flensburg-Handewitt ended the group phase by topping Group A having won 10 of their 14 games. Their prize for such a series of strong performances are two matches against HC PPD Zagreb. The Croatian outfit failed to pick up a single point from the group phase but that counts for nothing now and will head into the play-offs keen on causing an upset. The road to the LANXESS arena would not be the same without Paris Saint-Germain Handball, and the French side’s quest to win their first EHF Champions League Men title will begin against RK Celje Pivovarna Lasko. Another team to impress during the group phase were Lozma Vive Kielce. The Polish side had the 80 goals of top scorer Alex Dujshebaev to thank for their form and they now face HBC Nantes for a place in the quarter-finals. As I wish all the remaining teams the very best of luck ahead of their play-off ties, I would like to once again thank them, and indeed all of the clubs who have competed in the competition so far, for respecting and adhering to our detailed hygiene guidelines to ensure matches are played in a safe environment during times of Covid-19. Michael Wiederer EHF President Partners Suppliers 1 Uvodna beseda predsednika RK Celje Pivovarna Laško Spoštovani prijateljice in prijatelji rokometa in RK Celje Pivovarna Laško, prišli smo v zaključni del drugačne sezone, ko je pred nami eden izmed prvih vrhuncev. V dvorano Zlatorog se vračajo izločilni boji lige prvakov, ki smo jih nazadnje spremljali v sezoni 2013/14, morali bi jih tudi v prejšnji, a temu ni bilo tako, saj je bilo vse skupaj odpovedano. Žal bo ta vrhunec potekal brez prisotnosti gledalcev, vendar pa ne brez podpore le teh. Namreč če katera, potem je ta sezona tista, v kateri moramo reči: “Nič nas ne ustavi.” Zakaj nič nas ne ustavi - ta slogan v sebi skriva neomajen duh celjskih vitezov in celotnega kluba, ko nas izzivi zadnjega leta niso ustavili, tako na, kot ob igrišču. Skupaj premagujemo korona krizo, ki vpliva na finančni del poslovanja kluba, kot tudi na tekmovalni del. Fantje na igrišču premagujejo nasprotnike, prestavitve tekem, težave s testiranji, okužbe, vse omejitve in dvorane brez navijačev. In predvsem slednje so tisto kar gotovo vsi skupaj pogrešamo najbolj. Verjamem, da tudi navijači pogrešate vzdušje, vznemirjenje in vse ostalo kar te prinašajo. Podpora s tribun tudi fantom ogromno pomeni in najbolj manjka, zato smo se odločili, da jim pokažemo, da jo imajo. Zato velika hvala za vašo podporo. Kot sem dejal že ob začetku te sezone in nastopanja v tem elitnem tekmovanju, drugi druge v teh časih potrebujemo še bolj, pomagati si moramo med sabo in se vračati v normalnost. In vaša majica na tribuni je prvi korak do te. V letošnji EHF Ligi prvakov, katere del je Rokometni klub Celje Pivovarna Laško že 26. sezono, smo znova videli, da se naš klub lahko kosa z evropsko elito, predvsem pa smo na sceno znova postavili fante, za katere rokometna Evropa pred tem še ni slišala, v prihodnje pa bodo gotovo še velikokrat opozorili nase. In to je tisto, kar si s strani evropske rokometne zveze priznana najboljša rokometna šola v Evropi, vedno znova prizadeva. Sedaj bomo poizkušali še enkrat več opozoriti nase, pred nami, oziroma predvsem pred ekipo je velik izziv. Tu je ena najboljših evropskih zasedb zadnjih let, francoski Pariz Saint-Germain, ki jim ob tem izrekam dobrodošlico. Vendar mi zaupamo v našo ekipo, gre za dobre, enotne, borbene fante, ki so tekom sezone pokazali, da si zaslužijo podporo vseh nas! Prepričan sem, da jo bodo na tekmi čutili in prepričan sem, da bomo po njej ponosni nanje. Vabim vas, da skupaj uživamo v novi preizkušnji najelitnejšega tekmovanja v Evropi. Naj nas nič ne ustavi!     Trophées LNH 2019 – Découvrez les nommés Paris, mercredi 22 mai 2019, Les joueurs et entraineurs nommés pour l’attribution des Trophées LNH 2019 sont connus. Si Paris et Chartres seront respectivement champions de Lidl Starligue et de Proligue, tout reste à faire pour les futurs lauréats des Trophées LNH 2019. Parmi les nommés, on retrouve 6 parisiens mais aussi 6 chambériens et 5 nîmois, les équipes qui se battent aux côtés des géants Montpellier et Nantes dans l’attribution des places européennes… La campagne de votes est ouverte jusqu’au mardi 28 mai sur www.tropheeslnh.fr. Les « équipes types » et le plus beau but seront révélés le jeudi 30 mai. Les trophées de meilleur espoir, meilleur entraineur et meilleur joueur seront quant à eux révélés le vendredi 7 juin à l’occasion de la soirée des Trophées LNH qui se tiendra à l’Hippodrome ParisLongchamp.
