Pursuant to DepEd Order (DO) No. 55, s. 2016 entitled Policy Guidelines on the National Assessment of Student Learning for the K to 12 Basic Education Program and DO 25, s. 2017 entitled School Calendar for School Year 2017-2018, the Department of Education (DepEd), through the Bureau of Education Assessment (BEA) with the assistance of schools divisions and secondary schools personnel, shall admnister the Basic Education Exit Assessment (BEEA) for the School Year (SY) 2017-2018 in March 2018 to all Grade 12 students in both public and private schools nationwide. Further announcement on the exact dates of administration will follow. 2. The administration of BEEA will be the first time that the Grade 12 students ofthe K to 12 Curriculum will be assessed. 3. In SY 20 16-20 17, the Philippines has implemented for the first time the Senior High School (SHS) Curriculum in its K to 12 Basic Education Program. This SY 20 17-2018, the fust batch of students in the SHS program is expected to graduate meeting the content and performance standards of 21st century skills such as Problem Solving, Information Literacy, and Critical Thinking Skills embedded in eight core subject areas, namely: a. Language and Communication; b. Wika at Komunikasyon; c. Humanities; d. Media and Information Literacy; e. Mathematics; f. Science; g. Social Science and Personal Development; and h. Philosophy. 4. The BEEA aims to: a. determine students' learning progress and their attainment of the learning standards; b. help provide information to improve instructional practices; c. assess the effectiveness and efficiency of education service delivery using learning outcomes as indicators; and DepEd Complex, Meralco Avenut', Pasig City 1600 ~~633-7208/633-7228(632-1361 tljf. 636-4876/637-6209 'I w'liVW:deped.gov.ph d. provide empirical information as basis for the improvement of the curriculum, learning delivery, assessment, and for policy review and formulation. 5. The authorized forwarder shall deliver the test materials to schools divisions outside the National Capital Region two weeks before the test administration. The same forwarder shall retrieve the test materials one week after the test administration. 6.
