She has shown her films and videos at museums, galleries, biennials and festivals. She studied literature at the University of Nanterre (France) and Fine Arts at Hunter College in New York City. She has made a number of film portraits on avant- garde directors, musicians and composers, such as George Kuchar, Guy Maddin, Richard Foreman, Tony Conrad, Genesis P-Orridge, Alan Vega and Felix Kubin. Whimsical, poetic, dreamlike and unconventional, her films explore the life and work of these artists. Losier’s films are regularly shown at prestigious art and film festivals and museums, such as the Berlinale, Rotterdam Film Festival Tribeca Film Festival, Tate Modern, MOMA, Palais de Tokyo, Centre George Pompidou and the Cinematheque Francaise. She was included in the 2006 Whitney Biennial (Whitney Museum, N.Y.C). Her first feature film was the portrait of pioneering musician-artist Genesis Breyer P-Orridge (of Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV) and his/her partner Lady Jaye. The Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jaye pre- miered at the Berlin Film Festival in February 2011, and won the Caligary and the Teddy Awards. She also won the Grand Prize at Indielisboa, the Prix Louis Marcorelles and the Prix des Bibliotheques at Cinema du Reel, and many more. The film was released in France, Canada, Mexico, Germany and in the USA. Losier was awarded the prestigious 2013/2014 DAAD Residency Award in Berlin to work on her new feature film Peaches Goes Bananas!, based on Canadian musician-performer Peaches. She received the Guggenheim Award to work on Cassandro, The Exotico, a portrait of the celebrated Mexican wrestler. She is currently on residency at the Cité des Arts, in Paris in pre-production for her new feature on Cassandro, The Exotico, as well as a multi facets film (installation, film and performance) on the German composer and musi- cian, Felix Kubin (Felix Kubin, Falling Still). / / / / WORKS IN PROGRESS / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / Feature Films - Cassandro, the Exotico (documentary, produced by Tamara Films and House on Fire) - Peaches goes Bananas (fiction, produced by Tamara Films and House on Fire) - Felix Kubin, Falling Still (docu fiction and installation, produced by Red Shoes and Bandits-Mages) Series of short portraits for tv on actors from theater to cinema Portraits on Pascal Greggory, Fanny Ardant, Denis Lavant and Bulles Ogier Solo show, films and masterclass at Pink Life QueerFest of Ankara (Turkey) Milan Filmmaker Festival, FOCUS on Marie Losier Films, lectures and catalogue, http://www.filmmakerfest.com/ChiSiamo (Italy) Film on Chaya Czernowin, Israeli composer and Walter Bigelow Rosen, Professor of Music at Harvard University, commissioned by IRCAM and Cinéma Du Réel / / / / FILMOGRAPHY / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / L’Oiseau de la Nuit (2015), 16mm, 20 min, color, with Deborah Kristal, Joao Pedro Rodriguez, Joao Rui Guerra DaMata… Omnibus Film, HERE LISBON, produced by Indielisboa with Denis Cote, Gabriel Abrantes and Dominga Sotomaya L’échappée Vive (2015), video, 24 min, color, co-directed with Catherine Libert, with Noël Dola & Ben Vaultier Peaches and Jesper are on a boat, who stays afloat ? 28/7/2018 quaderni d'altri tempi LETTURE / The Mantis – for Cecil Taylor – 1966-2009 – The collected pomes di Steve Dalachinsky Poesia e musica, storia di un incontro di Erika Dagnino Steve Dalachinsky, poeta contemporaneo dell’area newyorkese attivo sulla scena free jazz collaborando con musicisti tra cui William Parker, Susie Ibarra, Matthew Shipp, Roy Campbell, Mat Maneri, Federico Ughi, ha recentemente pubblicato la raccolta The Mantis – for Cecil Taylor – 1966-2009 – The Collected Pomes.

Installation view of Head Shop Exile is one of Berlin's most exciting young galleries - founded by Christian Siekmeier in 2008, and now run in partnership with Robin John Berwing, it has offered a steady exhibition schedule since its inception, along with an ambitious 'Summer Camp' program, a series of group shows cum happenings that offer a spirited alternative to the typical art opening. For their latest, Exile invited NY-based artist and publisher (of the cult magazine, Straight To Hell) ,Billy Miller, to put together two concurrent shows. One, titled 'Lost Horizon', is inspired by the iconic novel and film of the same name, explores American Western archetypes through the lens of loss, while the second, 'Head Shop', owes its conceptual roots to legendary bohemian boutiques like London's Granny Takes a Trip, offering a crowded 'selling floor' full of work that explores the rich possibilities of the mind. March 19, 2014 The Mark Hotel in New York By Glenn Belverio and Diane Pernet Dear Shaded Viewers, One can't imagine a better place to hang up one's mantilla after a long day of fashion film organizing and hosting. The Mark on New York's Upper East Side, just an Akoya pearl's throw from Central Park, is "New York's most boldly lavish hotel." It certainly lives up to that claim. Three nights in a cavernous suite, complete with two bathrooms and a well-appointed living room, with a show-stopping Jean-Georges restaurant only an elevator ride away, is the sort of relaxing respite one needs amidst the hustle and bustle of this often unforgiving city. The Mark is housed, as it has always been, in this beautiful 1927 landmark building. But as is a luxury hotelier's wont, the inside has been transformed with a design aesthetic that is at once soothingly modern and brazenly futuristic. http://ashadedviewonfashion.com/blog/mark-hotel-new-york-glenn-belverio-and-diane-pernet ASVOFF producer-at-large David Herman also stayed at The Mark. Hailing from Paris, it was David's first visit to NYC--and he told me everything lived up to his expectations (!) The Mark's interiors were conceived by renowned French designer Jacques Grange. (His rather impressive client list includes Yves Saint Laurent, Valentino, Karl Lagerfeld and Caroline, Princess of Monaco.) Known for his striking modernity and theatrical flair, Grange has created public spaces for The Mark that engage and delight. Not only did he oversee and design the furnishings, Grange also collaborated with Parisian design gallerist Pierre Passebon to comission a host of objets d'art, furniture and light fixtures, specially created for the hotel by renowned artists and artisans, including Ron Arad, Vladimir Kagan, Mattia Bonetti and Paul Mathieu.
