An introduction from Linda Gamblin Course Director, Pre-Professional Year

Sydney Dance Company’s one-day intensive for senior dance students will give you a great insight into how we spend our days in the full-time Pre-Professional Year Course giving you food for thought as you continue to explore the wonderful world of dance. Meticulous training in classical and contemporary technique, including intense pilates and yoga practice is the best foundation for developing as a dancer. In this one day intensive you will learn Sydney Dance Company repertoire choreographed by Rafael Bonachela along with exploring improvisation skills and task work, which extends the dancer to become the artist.

Catherine Goss - Ballet Paul Knobloch - Ballet

Fiona Jopp – Repertoire Natalie Ayton - Repertoire

Dean Walsh – Contemporary Technique Emma Hawthorne - Yoga

In 2014 Dean headed to New York to choreograph a new Australian-American musical called Atomic, which premiered at the Acorn Theatre on 42nd Street. Dean is a currently facilitating workshops for the Pre- Professional year students at Sydney Dance Company.
