Plants are not all the same green colour, nor are the small green creatures that inhabit them. Shades of green can be found throughout the Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens, in my backyard and in our own bush property and this is where inspiration for the artworks began. The ‘50 Shades of Green’ exhibition includes one installation that is really 50 small artworks combined and yes, there will be 50 shades of green within it. The installation and other artworks will include acrylics, papermaking, photography, collage, weaving and textiles and found objects from nature. Look out for some other green quirky objects too. 14 15 Commemorating 100 Years of ANZAC

The ANZAC Centenary is a milestone of special significance to all Australians. Between 2014 and 2018, Australia will commemorate the ANZAC Centenary, marking 100 years since our nation’s involvement in the First World War.

Importantly, during the ANZAC Centenary, we will remember not only the original ANZACs who served at Gallipoli and the Western Front, but commemorate more than a century of service by Australian servicemen and women.

In our region, Mackay Regional Council has been working with the Mackay RSL Sub-Branch to actively promote, encourage and support ANZAC Centenary initiatives and events across the Mackay region including:
