RESOLUTION
1 WHEREAS, The Mexican American Legislative Caucus, the oldest
2 and largest Latino caucus in the nation, is marking the 40th
3 anniversary of its founding in 2013; and
4 WHEREAS, Established in 1973, the Mexican American
5 Legislative Caucus is a nonprofit and nonpartisan entity dedicated
6 to advancing issues important to the Texas Latino community; the
7 caucus additionally acts as an informational clearinghouse for
8 members and nonmembers alike, providing research on the potential
9 implications of legislative action; and
10 WHEREAS, Composed of members united by the goal of ensuring
11 fair representation for all Texans, MALC serves as a strong and
12 cohesive voice in the legislative process; in the years since its
13 inception, it has benefited from the leadership and participation
14 of the following individuals:
