School Travel Safety Assessment

There are 48 schools in Dakota County next to a county road or state highway. These schools were grouped into categories based on the speed limit and the number of lanes of the county road or state highway, and a representative sample of 9 schools were selected for analysis. By selecting a representative sample of schools, the resulting recommendations from the analysis can be applied to all schools with similar characteristics. The outcome of the study will include recommendations for all 48 schools, even if they were not selected for detailed analysis. The table on the following pages shows the list of all 48 schools, the groupings of schools, and the representative schools selected for analysis.
