The Al Cohn - Zoot Sims Quintet will give the fifth Jazz in the Garden

concert at the Museum of Modern Art on Thursday, July 26, at 8:30 p.m.

The free-swinging modern jazz group consists of Al Cohn and Zoot Sims

on tenor saxaphones, joined by John Bunch, piano, Wyatt Ruther, bass,

and Bob Pike, drums.

Admission to the Museum is $1.00; members free. The jazz concert

is an additional 50 cents. In case of rain, the concert will be

cancelled; tickets will be honored at the concert following. Other

Museum activities continue as announced until the 10 p.m. closing.

Dinner and refreshments are available in the Penthouse restaurant.

Al Cohn played with (191*6), ('Vf), Woody

Herman ('HS-1^)* subsequently worked for the Andy Williams and Steve

Allen TV shows, joined Zoot Sims in 1957. Sims, one of the original

"Four Brothers" of the orchestra, has played with Kenny

Baker and among others, and recently returned from

Russia with .

Jazz in the Garden is presented by the Museum in cooperation with

the United Nations Jazz Society. Gary Keys, Herb Snitzer and Richard

Jennings are in charge of programing and production. The series of

ten Thursday evening promenade concerts will continue August 2 with the

Kenny Dorham and Jackie McClean Quintet.

The I9UI film, J&aJ-La£JLir£, with Gary Cooper^ Barbara Stanwyck,

Oscar Homolka, and Dana Andrews will be shown in the Museum auditorium

at 8 p.m.
