Green fees for seven (7) rounds of golf as follows: West Links of North Berwick. A day at one of golf’s most historic venues, the West Links of North Berwick, is a truly unique experience. In fact, noted architect, Tom Doak, writes in The Confidential Guide that the West Links is one of his best 30 golfing experiences ever. The course lies on the second oldest golfing ground in Scotland, features an ancient shepherd’s wall as part of its design and is home to “Redan”, the most copied par three ever. Muirfield (two rounds - morning fourballs & afternoon foursomes). Muirfield is the home course for the Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers, is the world’s oldest golf club. A typical day at Muirfield consists of morning fourballs (play your own ball), a sumptuous lunch in the members’ diningroom (the best buffet lunch in Scotland, jacket & tie required) and afternoon foursome (alternate shot). There is a certain courteous, civilised ambience here which some mistake for stodginess. Our members frequently describe a day at Muirfield as their best golf experience ever. Carnoustie Golf Links. These gnarly, monstrous links are amongst the most challenging in championship play. Carnoustie was the site of Hogan’s famed victory in the 1953 Open and, in 1999, the most bizarre collapse in modern Open history. (Never pair a French golfer with a French caddie!) A very stern test of golf, but a fair one indeed. St. Andrews – New Course. The New Course is a mere century old and, though not as inscrutable as the Old Course, is a good solid course in its own right. This Old Tom Morris design suffers from proximity to the Old Course. It is certainly more straightforward with an excellent collection of four pars. In fact, Golf Digest finds it to be one of the 100 top courses in the world outside the US. St. Andrews - Old Course. Golf has been played here for half a millennium, and quirky and eccentric as it may be, the nervous thrill of playing away on the first hole, driving over the railroad shed on the diabolical 17th, or putting out of the Valley of Sin on the 18th green (with half the town looking on), is one of golf’s great experiences. Kingsbarns Golf Links. Kingsbarns is a links course located about 7 miles southeast of St. Andrews on the road to Crail that opened in 2000 to rave reviews. In fact, the esteemed Golf Magazine rankings already place the course in the world’s top 50. Splendid views of the North Sea and the Kingdom of Fife can be enjoyed from almost anywhere on the course. Definitely a championship course, Kingsbarns serves as one of the venues for the Dunhill Cup and it is anticipated that major tournaments will be held here in the future. Additional Golf Option: West Links & Panmure – Add an additional $156 pp for an afternoon round on the West Links on the 19th and an afternoon round at Panmure Golf Club on the 22nd. Panmure Golf Club. Despite its short length, the course demands so much accuracy that it is a fitting challenge even to world class golfers. When Panmure served as the final Open qualifier for Carnoustie in 2007, it was the 7th time the course was so honoured. .
