Once aboard the Ghost , Ezra tried to tell Hera about the Phantom but the captain was preoccupied with getting the ship to safety. So by the time Ezra was seven, his parents were taken away by the Empire and their family home declared off limits to live in to the public, leaving him to fend for himself for the next eight years, eventually taking up residence in an abandoned communication tower, humorously nicknaming it Ezra's Tower. Ezra manages to placate the man by mentioning his parents, prompting the man to take off his hood and introduce himself as Ryder Azadi , a former Governor of Lothal who was imprisoned by the Empire for supporting the Bridgers' anti-Imperial broadcasts. Destroying the droids, Sabine manages to evade the station's scanners and park the ship under the floating scrapyard. Later, the crew of the Ghost and Rex set up a base on Garel, and Ezra eventually skipped one of his Jedi lessons with Kanan to attend a blaster training session taught by Rex. After infiltrating Reklam Station, the rebels encountered several Ugnaught laborers. Throughout his childhood, Ezra would occasionally trigger "strange abilities", which allowed him to see into the future. Already the rebels were feeling the cold of space, but then Ezra began to hear strange sirens that he described sounded sad. Noticing a Stormtrooper chasing a young Wookiee, Ezra went out to rescue him. Home 1 Kids' Books 2. Puzzled on what kind of trouble the Rodian was in, Ezra headed back to his tower to think about it until he heard his parents' voices calling out to him through the Force and realized what the only place he could find Tseebo was: his shuttered family home. At Kanan's urging, Ezra stayed calmed as he used the Force to levitate the object towards them. Star Wars Rebels Ezras Duel with Danger Writer At Kanan's request, Ezra left his lightsaber behind and kept in touch with his master via comlink. After Sabine informed that she had received intelligence that the Imperial fleet was withdrawing from Lothal, Ezra took it as a sign that he should go to Lothal. But at that point, the Seventh Sister and Fifth Brother arrived and goaded Ezra into attacking them, but before Ezra could strike them, Kanan used his blaster to shut the blast doors; separating the boy from the Inquisitors. Ezra and Kanan helped Zeb and Chopper back to the Ghost by exchanging fire with their Stormtrooper pursuers. Despite Kanan coming Hera, there was still no sign of her and the other crew when the Ghost and the rest of the Phoenix fleet converged on Ibaar. Chopper came to the rescue, creating a commotion that allowed Ezra to free himself and use his lightsaber to deflect Azmorigan's blaster shots and the Force to save Hondo from being fired into space, thus revealing his identity as a Jedi. The mission, however, took longer than expected due to the high level of security at the Academy but Ezra managed to secure one more day rebel colleagues. Enter Location. All of the characters feel like they should and the action is clear and vivid. Together, the rebels made their way inside the prison and found Hondo's cell. This created an explosion which disoriented the Imperials and enabled all the rebels to escape aboard the Ghost. Want to get in touch or have a question? Despite Kanan's efforts to reassure him that Sabine would be fine, Ezra still voiced his dislike for solo missions. Before it could finish him, the Fighter was destroyed by the rebel's ship, the Ghost , which was the same VXC he saw being chased by Rudor months before. Despite promising to spare his friends, Maul ordered his droids to kill the captives and made a second attempt on Kanan's life. Unfortunately, the three rebels learned that the Black Sun syndicate had also found the droid useful, and were cornered by the Black Sun agent assigned for the opposing mission, who happened to be the symbol's owner: Ketsu Onyo , a former classmate of Sabine at the Imperial Academy on Mandalore who had fallen out with Sabine, and is now working for the Sun to collect EG There, the three travelers spotted a large pyramidal Sith Temple in the distance. It has been accepted for inclusion in Electronic Theses and Dissertations by an authorized administrator of Digital Commons @ ACU. ABSTRACT Mythic narratives exert a powerful influence over societies, and few mythic narratives carry as much weight in modern culture as the Star Wars franchise. Disney’s 2012 purchase of Lucasfilm opened the door for new films in the franchise. 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the second of these films, takes place in the fictional hours and minutes leading up to the events portrayed in 1977’s Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. Changes to the fundamental myths underpinning the Star Wars narrative and the unique connection between these film have created important implications for the public memory of the original film. I examine these changes using Campbell’s hero’s journey and Lawrence and Jewett’s American monomyth. In this thesis I argue that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was likely conceived as a means of updating the public memory of the original 1977 film.

  • From Sidious to Nixon: the Parallels Between Star Wars and Vietnam
From Sidious to Nixon: The Parallels Between Star Wars and Vietnam A Senior Project presented to the Faculty of the History Department California Polytechnic State University – San Luis Obispo In Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree Bachelor of Liberal Arts By Brennan Simpson March, 2021 © 2021 Brennan Simpson 1 In the case of a film franchise that features twelve movies, five television series, and various other forms of media by the time this paper was written, many people may be surprised to hear that Star Wars was actually inspired by one of the most questionable moments in American history. However, the time period in which Star Wars creator George Lucas first wrote what became this world’s ‘‘first step into a larger world’’ actually greatly reflected what ended up on the big screen. Even though the Star Wars movies take place ‘‘a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away….,’’ it has been publicly stated in interviews that Lucas based both Star Wars media on the Vietnam War and their main villain, Darth Sidious, on former U.S. President Richard Nixon. Though there have been a few scholarly works since the first Star Wars movie was released in theaters in 1977 that have attempted to explore these parallels, none of them has directly explored how Lucas’s long-standing views on the Vietnam War affected certain key moments of the first six Star Wars movies. This thesis explores George Lucas’ antiwar activism before creating Star Wars to demonstrate how remarkably similar the films and related media of this franchise truly are to both various aspects of the Vietnam War and Richard Nixon’s rise to power.

Here, you‘ll find the answer to that query. This file, the Appendices, features numerous small sections, featuring topics ranging from G-Canon, T-Canon, and Apocryphal (N-Canon) timelines, a release timeline for ―real world‖ Star Wars materials, information relating to the Star Wars Timeline Project‘s growth, and more. This was the fourth file created for the Star Wars Timeline Gold. • Star Wars Rebels and the Last Jedi
Unbound: A Journal of Digital Scholarship Realizing Resistance: An Interdisciplinary Conference on Star Wars, Episodes VII, VIII & IX Issue 1, No. 1, Fall 2019 FORCED CREATURES Zooësis in Star Wars Rebels and The Last Jedi Spencer D. C. Keralis Keywords: Star Wars Rebels, Porgs, Critical Animal Studies Non-sentient animals have appeared in the Star Wars universe in roles both integral and decorative since A New Hope premiered in 1977. From beasts of burden like the dewbacks and banthas of Tatooine and the Gungans’ kaadu, to monsters like the wampa, rathtar, and dianoga; to the myriad of critters large and small that inhabit interstellar environments, animals are as much a part of the fabric of the Star Wars tapestry as the various non-human sentient species. In some cases, these creatures are mainly exotic window dressing, but in other instances, these animals are used instrumentally to advance larger narratives. To frame my examination of the use of animals in Star Wars, I borrow performance studies scholar Una Chaudhuri’s useful neologism “zooësis.” Coined by Chaudhuri to articulate “the way culture makes art and meaning with the figure and body of the animal,” encompasses the feelings that animals inspire, and so the affect of animals is an important part of understanding the place of the animal in the Star Wars universe (1). Ezra Bridger’s interaction with animals to explore the Force and to aid the Rebellion in Star Wars Rebels offers one example of how animals are instrumentalized, and Ezra’s affective response to “the figure and body” of these creatures – affection, awe, revulsion, or horror – are fairly straightforward.
