START Town Entry Signs Upgrade Council has committed to upgrading the entry signage to towns and villages, showcasing the and the identity of communities. A total of 38 signs have been developed with each town or village having a unique background image to depict a theme of relevant significance, encompassing the rich history of the region. The catalogue establishes connections to the diversity of the region, recognising the links to historic indigenous titles, economic drivers, heritage or its natural beauty. The signage includes the symbol of the Wakka Wakka people, the carpet python, as recognition of the traditional owners of the region. The process for fabrication and installation of the signage will take a number of months to complete, with the installation expected to commence in December 2019 and completion in the first quarter of 2020. Council has released the signage catalogue for installation at the following locations: • Blackbutt • Kingaroy • • Crawford • Durong • Hivesville • Kumbia • Maidenwell • Memerambi • Moffatdale • • Wooroolin
