Notes for Karl Friedrich Bogenschneider: General Notes: Obituary: Carl Frederick Bogenschneider, son of Henry Bogenschneider and Charlotte (Blank) Bogenschneider, was born in Blumberg, Pomner, April 25, 1859, and died August 21, at 11:20, at his home on Franklin Street, Lake Mills, Wisconsin. Mr. Bogenschneider was ill for the past two years, but the last two and one-half months he was an invalid. He died at the age of 66 years, 4 months and 4 days. When he reached the age of 21 years he came to America in 1880. In 1884 he was united in marriage to Wilhelmine Leschinsky. This union was blessed with seven children, two of whom have preceded their father in death. Those who mourn the loss are: His loving wife and five daughters, two sisters, four brothers and eighteen grandchildren. The daughters are Mrs. Aleida Krause, Waterloo; Mrs. Elsie Duckert, Roberts, Wis.; Mrs. Lena Britzke, Hebron; Mrs. Anna Britzke, town of Lake Mills; and Mrs. Avis Sullivan of Madison. One brother, Frank, lives near Aztalan, Wis. The other brothers and sisters are still living in Germany. The out of town attendants at the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Fredenburg, Mr. and Mrs. Humberg, James Flynn, and Carl Grabow, all of Cottage Grove; Mrs. Gilbert Henericks, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Humberg, Mr. Henry Lichtenberg, all of Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Will Dehnert and son Edward of Horicon; Mr. and Mrs. Will Pautsch and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Blascka of Marshall. The funeral service was held on Monday, August 24, 1925, at the house at one o'clock, and later at the Lutheran church, the Rev. J. Martin Raasch officiating.
