A fundamentação teórica do trabalho abordará conceitos de indústria cultural, democratização da produção cultural e remediação midiática, entre outros. Foram usados autores como Bolter, Anderson, Tanner, Ramos, Duarte e Kellner, de suma importância para a estruturação da pesquisa. Audio and visual markers of the 1980s and 1990s, white-collar workspaces, media technology, and advertising are prominent features of the aesthetic. The (academic, vernacular, and press) writing about vaporwave commonly positions the genre as an ironic or ambivalent critique of contemporary capitalism, exploring the implications of vaporwave for understandings of temporality, memory and technology. The interpretive and discursive labour of producing, discussing and contesting this positioning, described here as “genre work,” serves to constitute and sediment the intelligibility and coherence of the genre. This paper explores how the narrative of vaporwave as an aesthetic critique of late capitalism has been developed, articulated, and disputed through this genre work. We attend specifically to the limits around how this narrative functions as a pedagogical or sensitising device, instructing readers and listeners in how to understand and discuss musical affect, the nature and function of descriptions of music, and perhaps most importantly, the nature of critique, and of capitalism as something meriting such critique.     Revista do Programa de Pós-graduação em Filosofia da UFOP ISSN: 2526-7892 ARTIGO “ORIGINAL” SOUNDTRACK: PASTICHE E CRISE POLÍTICA NO REVIVAL SONORO E VISUAL DOS ANOS 801 Benito Eduardo Araujo Maeso2 e Tarik Vivan Alexandre 3 Resumo: Partindo da afirmação de Adorno, de que os antagonismos não-resolvidos de uma sociedade retornam como problemas imanentes da forma das obras de arte em um determinado tempo, busca-se analisar o retorno e a ressignificação de elementos visuais e sonoros do início dos anos 1980 na produção contemporânea, notadamente no vaporwave. Este gênero, ao exagerar a referência ao limite do caricato e da paródia, busca produzir uma nova experiência estética a partir da colagem de fragmentos e resíduos das experiências anteriores. A época revisitada é a mesma na qual o neoliberalismo é estabelecido em países hegemônicos, gerando a subjetividade yuppie, que tem no empresário Donald Trump seu símbolo maior. Porém, a contradição gerada pela crise neoliberal abriu espaço a outro tipo de revival: o ressurgimento do fascismo. Coincidentemente, os dois principais subgêneros do vaporwave são o Trumpwave (que louva exatamente o maior símbolo desta mentalidade neoliberal) e o Fashwave (que tem como público principal grupos de ultradireita em escala mundial), produzindo uma estética híbrida entre os filmes Triunfo da Vontade e Tron. Com base nisso, pergunta-se, seria possível analisar essa “arte de resíduo” como forma peculiar de lidar tanto com a frustração pelo colapso do neoliberalismo como com seu assemelhamento com o fascismo? Seus objetos estéticos servem de fonte de informação sobre a interatividade que o ser humano estabelece com o computador. Dentre estas relações humano/máquina, a substância da fonte é codificada em números, e suas dinâmicas tornam possível a comunicação de alta velocidade, levando a uma saturação de material infográfico, e de relances artificiais da realidade.
