WHY RADIO?

Because radio is still one of the most effective and economical means of reaching huge masses of people. • There are more than 250,000,000 household radios in the U. S. today , not including transistor radios and car radios. • In 1968, over 47,000,000 househol d radios (not including transistors and car radios) were purchased in the U.S. • The average U. S. household has 4.3 radios in operating condition. 86% of all cars on the road have radios. • There are more household radios (not including transistors and car radios) in the U.S. than telephones in the whole world. • Radio reaches 75% of all U.S . adults every day. 92% of all men in the U. S. are reached by radio every week. • Typical housewife listens to radio 25 hours per week.

DO LISTENERS RESPOND TO HERALDOF TRUTH RADIO PROGRAMS?

Decidedly. While we can roughly measure the response by letters which listeners send in to us, we have no way of knowing the thousands upon thousands who listen, but do not write in - yet are affected by the healing word of Christ. Here are a few vital figures: -- - ~~- .- .-' So' far tfils yeafl ve have ma de over 12-,000c on°tfcts as a ,,_ result of listeners writing in for radio sermons. (This does not include Bible correspondence courses.) • Since January of this year, we have mailed out 33,034 transcripts of our radio sermons. Every effort is made by the Herald of Truth ministry to make sure that every letter, every request, every need that comes to our att ention is answered. Congregations nearest those who write in are cont acted by us and urged to follow up by personal conta ct. Thus Herald of Truth becomes an effective part of the local evangelistic efforts of every congregation.

WHY NBC RADIO?

Because the National Broadcasting Company is the oldest radio network, one that helps give the Herald of Truth ministry important standing in the radio community and among radio listeners. NBC affiliate stations are usually the number one statio ns in their communities in terms of prestige, long-established audience loyal ties, ratings, and outs tan ding program adjacencies. • NBC stations are generally stronger stations (in the 5 - 50,000 watt coverage range) in the more highly populated areas. • NBC radio stations help us to reach more people at less cost in all the major cities and towns across the country. • Very few religious programs are carried by NBC - one is Herald of Truth.
