The first two weeks 10 young men (15- two workshops around team building and listening skills through 18 yrs) participated in the fitness programme and the second two sports. Waterford Sports Partnership facilitated the two sessions weeks seven girls (12-15 yrs) enjoyed the taster step aerobics class. and the physical activity was based around the game of boccia. As a result of the positive response from the teenagers this class is The youth group all participated equally concentrating on the rules continuing every Tuesday for the next six weeks. AFTERSCHOOL SPORTS CLUB Northern Suburbs Community Youth Project run an AFTERSCHOOL SPORTS CLUB in the SPORTS HUB for children from Gaelscoil na nDeise and Waterford Educate Together National School. The club runs every THURSDAY from 2.40-3.40pm and is FREE of charge for all children. Registration forms are available from the schools and should be filled out by parents/guardians prior to joining the Afterschool Sports Club. The Community Youth Project runs groups for young people aged 10 - 21 years at its Community House in Gracedieu as follows . Déise Dragons is a new multi sports club running every Friday between 6.30pm to 8.30pm in Carrickphierish Sports Hub. The club is for children and young people aged between 4 -18 years with a physical disability. Each week participants will have the opportunity to take part in fundamental skills and movements followed by a sport specific skill based activity. There will be a variety of games on offer such as GAA, Soccer, Rugby, Yoga, Basketball, Volleyball, Wheelchair games and Muai Thai, which are split into a six week block at a time. €20 Membership (Annual) + €3 per child per week/€5 per family per week. The event is being organised by County Waterford Local Authorities and Beach Volleyball Waterford Sports Partnership with support from Failte Ireland, Cycling Ireland Football Forum and Waterford Leader Partnership, but also with the Sports Capital Grants 2007 support of all the local cycling clubs.
