In bold, dark fountain pen ink The Politician. Rare A.L.S., Jon. Gully, two pages, 8vo, Brighton, Little Giant of Hanover, writes, in full, 'Your good letter received 11th July 1852, to B[enjamin] Oliveira. Gully states that it has today & I am sending you this photograph which was taken given him great pleasure to hear that his correspondent has while I was Worlds Heavyweight Champion. I am living in the been returned as Member for his old Boro, commenting 'pray garden spot of the World, Life is beautifull (sic) & its just as we accept of my humble congratulations and if I rendered you any make it. God bless you, Always your Friend, Tommy Burns'. service in the cause it is indeed most gratifying to my feelings.' Rare, bold dark fountain pen ink signature ('Yours truly, Lot: 2 Champion Jack Johnson') and date, 26th September 1914, to SULLIVAN JOHN L.: (1858-1918) American Boxer, recognised the verso of Jackson's visiting card with the printed text 'Jack as the first World Heavyweight Champion 1881-92. An Johnson, The Champion Boxer of the World' and address as extremely rare vintage signed sepia cabinet photograph, the Tavistock Square in London. An excellent example of image depicting the Boston Strong Boy at his prime in a half Johnson's signature as World Champion. VG length bare chested pose with his arms firmly folded. Signed to Estimate: £600.00 - £800.00 the verso in bold, dark fountain pen ink, 'Compliments of John L. Sullivan' and dated 1st June (?) 1893 in his hand. An excellent signed sepia 6.5 x 9.5 name alone across a light area at the base of the image. Some photograph of Fitzsimmons in a profile head and shoulders slight age wear and minor surface creasing to Dempsey's pose. Photograph by White of New York. Signed ('With best photograph, G to VG, 2 Dempsey was defeated twice by wishes, Bob Fitzsimmons') in dark fountain pen ink across a Tunney, in 1926 and 1927. Vintage signed and inscribed across a light area of the image and dated 12th August 1936, 9 x 12 photograph of Schmeling standing in a three quarter while World Heavyweight Champion, in his hand. Some light length pose alongside his wife, Anny Ondra. Photograph by overall age wear and two small tears to the upper edge, just Strominger of Prague and bearing their blindstamp to the lower affecting the image but not the signature, otherwise about VG white border.
