ChinaVision to Collaborate with Stephen to Develop the “” Film Art Centre of More than 1,000 mou in Wuzhen, Tongxiang City, Province * * * * * First Creation by Both Parties as“Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons” Breaks Box Office Receipts Records in

(China/, 21 February 2013) – ChinaVision Media Group Limited (“ChinaVision” or the “Group”, HKEx stock code: 01060) today announced that the Group has signed a memorandum of understanding and a cooperative agreement (the “Cooperative Agreement”) with the People’s Government of Tongxiang City, Zhejiang Province to develop a 1048.5 mou “Journey to the West” Film Art Centre project (the “Film Art Centre”) in Wuzhen in collaboration with Stephen Chow, an icon of the entertainment industry in Asia. Today, Mr Dong Ping, Chairman of ChinaVision and the government officials of Tongxiang City People’s Government finalised the Cooperative Agreement at a signing ceremony held in Wuzhen.

The project is to be developed through a joint venture company (the “Joint Venture Company”) established with Mr Chow pursuant to the cooperative framework agreement (the “Framework Agreement”) signed between ChinaVision and Mr Chow on 12 October 2012. ChinaVision is to hold 75% equity interest in the Joint Venture Company while Mr Chow is to hold the remaining 25%. The People’s Government of Tongxiang City has designated that 1048.5 mou land (“the Land Parcel”) available for the Film Art Centre project. According to the Cooperative Agreement, ChinaVision plans to acquire the land use rights of the Land Parcel within a total area of approximately 691.4 mou by stages and rent the remaining land area of 357.1 mou for the development of “Journey to the West” Film Art Centre. The Tongxiang Government intends to build a strongly branded uniquely Chinese cultural Film Art Centre attaining a national 5A Tourist Attraction Standard, with the aim to promote tourism of Wuzhen and build a landmark of cultural Film Art Centre with strong Chinese characteristics.

In September 2012, ChinaVision announced the acquisition of 30% interest in the film “Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons” directed by Stephen Chow, and signed the Framework Agreement on the development and co-production of five movies in seven years. The first creation, “Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons” which hit the screen during the Spring Festival has recorded steadily increasing box office receipts across the Greater China Region enroute to breaking several records in China since its debut. The Group plans to recreate the setting that has strongly impressed viewers at the “Journey to the West” Film Art Centre. The initiative is expected to open a new chapter in Chinese film production history. Both parties plan to add other related elements from the upcoming hits created or directed by Stephen Chow into this Film Art Centre.

Mr Dong Ping, Chairman of ChinaVision, said, “We are very pleased to sign the Cooperative Agreement with the People’s Government of Tongxiang City, a major step in the joint development of “Journey to the West” Film Art Centre project with Mr Stephen Chow. The film art centre project also opens a new chapter of ChinaVision’s cultural business by developing sustainable products for movies and dramas which will bring the Group’s business exposure to a new height. We hope to leverage the existing tourist resources in Wuzhen to develop a Film Art Centre integrating culture, tourism, filming, entertainment and high technology functions embracing Chinese culture.”

Mr Dong concluded, “The ‘Journey to the West’ Film Art Centre project will not only recreate the special scenes occurred in the film, but also introduce an innovative culture based leisure travel concept. Upon completion, the project will become a trailblazing Chinese culture-themed resort that showcases oriental grandeur, and will open a new chapter in the history of Asia’s film culture. We expect the Film Art Centre can rival other world-class international film centres in the near future.”
