The Kentucky Dressage Association (KDA) is comprised of members (pre-teen to senior citizerns) from Kentucky and surrounding states who are passionate about horses and Dressage. Hilda is most notably associated with being on the Team Bronze medal earning USA Olympic Dressage team, taking part in the 1976 Olympics in Montreal. Her mount for the 76’ and 84” Olympics was a self-trained Thoroughbred, Keen. Hilda was a founder of the California Dressage Society and inducted into the USDF Hall of Fame in 2007. When she is not officiating competitions; Gurney breeds horses, trains and teaches at her Keenridge Farm in Moorpark, California. FEI “I” Judge, USEF “S” Judge, USEF Sporthorse “R” Breeding Judge Janet Foy (CO), graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in advertising and marketing. Riding Western and hunters from an early age, According to Janet’s website page biography, her “interest in dressage started when she lived in Oxford, England, and passed several British Horse Society Instructor Exams. As a rider, she has won her USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals. Janet has judged at all major shows in the United States... She has also judged national championships and CDI***/W in Guatemala, England, Colombia, Costa Rica, Barbados, Canada, Poland, Australia, and Mexico, as well as the FEI World Cup League Finals for the United States, Canada, and Australia. Janet was on the panel that selected the USA team for 2004 Athens, the 2006 WEG, the 2007 Pan American Games, 2008 Beijing and the 2010 WEG. Currently, Foy is an apprentice FEI Technical Delegate, and a member of the Federation Dressage Committee, the International High Performance Dressage Committee, and the USDF “L” Faculty, via which instructs Federation judges training programs throughout the United States for dressage and sport horse breeding. Janet Foy is a former member of the USDF Executive Board and the USA Equestrian Board of Directors.” https://dressagewithjanetfoy. wordpress.com/about/ 6 USEF “S” Judge w/ Young Horse Certification Debby Savage (OH), has extensive and varied equestrian background started in Texas at the age of 10 in western equitation, western reining and barrel racing as a 4-H member, then riding the hunters in high school and eventing after college. Moving from New York City to New Jersey in the late 1980’s, she began specializing in dressage teaching and pursuing the dressage judge’s track. Debby earned her USDF Silver and Gold medals and then her USEF “S” dressage judge license in 2010. Debby also has an extensive business background in medical publishing marketing, education and advertising. Originally from New Jersey in Region 1, she was 2005 Eastern States Dressage and Combined Training Association (ESDCTA) volunteer of the year and the Awards Chair from 2008 to 2013. She relocated to the Cleveland, OH area in 2014 to join the faculty of Lake Erie College, School of Equine Studies, as an Instructor and Coach for the Intercollegiate Dressage Association Team (who incidentally consistently win the USDF/ IDA Quiz Challenge). As a senior dressage judge and competitor, she is familiar with both the American dressage as well as international scenes, including the major activities of the USEF and USDF programs. At this time in her professional career, she has decided to focus on the development of the dressage community at large. Being the USDF Region 2 Director provides an excellent opportunity to help achieve that goal and make a contribution to her dressage community and to the future of the sport. Wingard City of Cincinnati, police officer, retired. Mas- ters degree from the University of Cincinnati. Published book, “The Utilization of Horses in Police Service”, article published in “The Horse The Force” magazine, on the training and implementation of mounted police units. Contributed an article to “Dressage Today” magazine. Proposed a mounted police unit for The City of Cincinnati, assisted in its implementation, organizing, and training. Competed in the National Open Water Championships 5 K 2nd place. Set new 500 yrd freestyle State of Ohio record.
