Southwell Minster is the Church of Nottinghamshire and serves communities from the farms of the Dukeries in the north, many ex-mining towns, and in the south the colourful city of . The Cathedral and Parish Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary is popularly known as ‘Southwell Minster’. Christian worship has taken place on this site for over 1000 years and Southwell Minster became the Diocesan Cathedral Church in 1884. Join us for guided tours of this gem of a cathedral as follows:

Southwell is North East of Nottingham, close to Newark. The Minster post code is NG25 0HD There is free parking for 2 hours only in the nearest shoppers car park. Longer term car parks are available a short walk away from the centre of Southwell. Southwell is served by bus no 100 "Pathfinder" from Queen Street in Nottingham. Newark Northgate is the nearest train station on the main East Coast Line. Southwell is then about a ten minute taxi ride. The Workhouse, Southwell This is a National Trust property, a little over a mile outside Southwell. It has slightly unusual opening hours and visiting arrangements but if you have seen the Minster before or would prefer to tour it on your own at another time (£2 entrance fee), then these are the details. 10.30 am.... cafe opens 11.00 am (and sometimes 11.30 as well) guided tour - individuals only , not pre-bookable 12.00 noon - site opens, usually open to 5.00 pm in summer Free to NT members. £9.10 adult (£10.05 Gift Aided) no concessions If you choose to visit The Workhouse in the morning but would like to join us for lunch and afternoon guided tour at the Minster, please let me know.
