FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mammut launches Dri-release® apparel

The Mammut Sports Group has chosen Dri-release for its latest innovation in climbing.

Wilmington, DE, USA July 21 2005 The Swiss based outdoor brand’s new climbing collection combines design and originality with a highly functional fabric. For the Graphite T-Shirt Mammut chose Dri-release with FreshGuard® to provide a technical climbing shirt that will ensure the wearer is comfortable at all times.

Urs Egli, Mammut Product Manager Snow and Climbing Apparel commented that "for a long time Mammut has been looking for a fabric which has the functions of a synthetic material, but also the look and feel of a natural fibre. Last summer when I was in Brazil I tested a basic shirt made of Dri-release with FreshGuard and right from the start I thought the performance, look and feel was great. This was later confirmed by Mammut test athletes and sales staff. We have definitely found the right synthetic fibre for ambitious climbers. "

The Graphite T-shirt is designed using Dri-release with FreshGuard in the body and sleeves and X-Static® mesh panels under the arms. The mesh panels allow for increased airflow in appropriate areas of the garment. Dri-release is a patented, intimate blend of synthetic (hydrophobic) and natural (hydrophilic) fibres from Optimer Performance Fibers that accelerates the water release rate of wet fabric. Rather than just spreading the moisture across the surface of the fabric, Dri-release actually pushes it to the outside of a garment, releasing water and perspiration faster than any other performance fabric on the market. Not a topical treatment, Dri-release with FreshGuard performance is permanent.

Dri-release eliminates the wet, heavy feeling and skin chafing in hot humid conditions while also protecting against chills and hypothermia in cold, wet conditions, allowing the climber to remain exceptionally comfortable. The added benefit of FreshGuard, an odour neutraliser built into the Dri-release yarn without harmful chemicals, virtually eliminates odour. FreshGuard is not a topical finish or antimicrobial. It’s friendly to the environment and maintains the natural balance of the skin.

In addition to the climbing collection, Mammut has launched the Outline T-shirt using Dri-release in a fresh young and trendy style for the market. This functional T-shirt in 100% Dri-release with FreshGuard is breathable and quickly transports the moisture away from the body, minimising body odours.
