Embassy of India, Kathmandu observed 6th International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2020. Due to lockdown in Nepal because of COVID-19 outbreak, Mission suitably celebrated 6th IDY on various platforms like social media and television.

2. On June 21, 2020 a 30-minute long video (in Nepali) on Common Yoga Protocol prepared by Mission was telecast on state broadcaster and biggest TV Channel of Nepal, Nepal TV and prominent TV Channel Sagarmatha TV at 0600 hrs and 0730 hrs (Nepal Standard Time) respectively. SVCC in Nepal also shared a live session on practice of Yoga by its Yoga Teacher on Mission‟s Facebook page which has more than 1.80 Lakh followers.

3. Mission also shared livestreaming of PM Modi's address on the occasion of Yoga Day on its website and social media handles such as Twitter (https://twitter.com/IndiaInNepal), Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/IndiaInNepal), Instagram (IndiainNepal) and YouTube channel. The message was also shared with more than 160 journalists and was covered in local media (news articles are attached). PM Modi's message was also shared with more than 20 Yoga organisations in Nepal to suitably motivate them to celebrate IDY following social distancing norms. Patanjali Yogpeeth in Nepal organized practice of Common Yoga Protocol at different places in Nepal through Webinar.

4. Mission also widely publicized 6th IDY on its website and social media handles. Mission regularly re-tweeted the tweets related to IDY tweeted by Hon'ble President of India, PM Modi along with Ministry of AYUSH, MIB, Indian Diplomacy, PIB and PMO. Yoga Videos/Asanas by Indian celebrities, music (Spirit of Yoga), photos, hashtags, creatives and infographics were also shared on these platforms. Snippets of PM Modi's yoga videos in different languages were shared with prominent Yoga organizations in Nepal (a timeline of events is at Annexure below)

5. An article on significance of Yoga in India-Nepal relations penned by Ambassador Shri Vinay Mohan Kwatra will be published in major Nepali print media. A message from Ambassador will also figure in Yog Sandesh, an annual publication on Yoga published by Mahamana Malviya Mission in Nepal.

5. SVCC in Nepal is organizing #MyLifeMyYoga contest the result of which will soon be declared. In addition, SVCC is also organizing lecture series through its YouTube channel on Yoga and Pranayam and their positive effects on health. Consulate General of India, Birgunj

In line with 'Ghar-Ghar Se Yoga-Yoga from Home' theme of Ministry of Ayush for the 6th International Day of Yoga, Consulate General of India, Birgunj celebrated IDY in the following manner:- i) Members of the Consulate practiced in-house Yoga under the guidance of Teacher of Indian Culture from first week of June, 2020, which was widely publicized through social media accounts. Though no guests were invited to grace the occasion in view of unprecedented situation of COVID-19, the Consulate displayed the live telecast of the event through its Facebook Account.
