Currently the above providers are the only approved apps available. Garmin will continue to work with other music providers and hope to provide additional apps at a future date.

Instructions to Sync Deezer Content to a vivoactive 3 Music

This article will provide the following steps to use the Deezer Connect IQ app on your vivoactive 3 Music:

The following are requirements to use the Deezer app with the vivoactive 3 Music:

 vivoactive 3 Music needs to be paired to your smartphone through the Garmin Connect app  vivoactive 3 Music needs to be set up to connect to a Wi-Fi Network. I meet the requirements. What's next? The three steps listed below need to be completed when first setting up the Deezer app with your vivoactive 3 Music. Once complete, you will only need to follow the third step when you want to load additional content to your watch. Select each section to expand and view instructions on completing each step:

Step 1: Download and Install the Deezer Connect IQ AppStep 2: Setup the Deezer Connect IQ AppStep 3: Syncing Music to the vivoactive 3 Music

NOTE: Device must be able to connect to a previously connected Wi-Fi network.

1. From your Deezer account, create playlists. Saved playlists will display as optional music to sync on your device. For more information see Deezer Support. 2. From the vivoactive 3 Music swipe to the Music Playback Controls widget 3. Select 4. Select 5. Select Deezer 6. Select My Playlists 7. Choose playlists you want to sync to your watch. 8. Exit by swiping back until you see the message "Ready to sync?". Select Yes to begin syncing music.

The amount of time required to sync music will depend on the number of songs being syncing, the speed of the internet the device is connected to and the quality of the Wi-Fi signal.

The three steps listed below need to be completed when first setting up the Spotify app with your vivoactive 3 Music. Once complete, you will only need to follow the third step when you want to load additional content to your watch. Select each section to expand and view instructions on completing each step:

Step 1: Download and Install the Spotify Connect IQ app Once the sync is complete, the Spotify app will be installed onto your device. You are ready to move to Step 2: Setup the Spotify Connect IQ app Once the app is installed, you will be prompted on the watch to continue setup You are ready to move to Step 3: Selecting and syncing content to the vivoactive 3 Music

NOTE: Your watch must be able to connect to your Wi-Fi network to download content from Spotify.

Content available to sync to the vivoactive 3 Music will be listed under Your Library from your Spotify account. This includes:

 Playlists: Saved or created playlists  Recently Played: A list of tracks that you have recently played  Made for you: New Music and Daily Mixes based on your listening habits  : Saved podcasts

1. From your vivoactive 3 Music swipe your screen to the Music Widget 2. Select (Spotify Icon) 3. Select Add music & podcasts 4. Choose a category then choose the content you want to sync to your watch

At this point, the watch will attempt to connect to your Wi-Fi network. We recommend plugging the watch into a charger near the Wi-Fi router for the best results.

Installing Music from a Computer on a Garmin Music Watch Using Garmin Express

Garmin music watches can store up to 500 files that can be played back through Bluetooth® headphones

Windows

The process of adding music content to a Garmin Music device can be broken down into three steps. Select each section to expand and view information on completing each step:

Step 1: Organize Your Music Library On Your Computer

Use your preferred media management program to create and edit playlists (Windows Media Player, iTunes, etc). If using iTunes, the following Apple support articles provide helpful instructions for setting up iTunes and managing your music library: o Create an Apple ID o Sign in to the App Store and iTunes Store on your Mac or PC o How to add items to iTunes on PC o Managing Playlists in iTunes on Windows

If using iTunes, it will also be necessary to configure iTunes to share the iTunes library XML with other applications:

1. Launch iTunes and go to Edit > Preferences 2. Click the Advanced tab 3. Check the box Share iTunes Library XML with other applications

Step 2: Add Your Garmin Music Device to Garmin Express

1. Connect your Garmin Music device to the computer 2. Open Garmin Express 3. Select Add Device

4. When the device is found, select Add Device

5. Follow the on-screen prompts to add the device to Garmin Express

Step 3: Add/Remove Music on Your Garmin Music Device With Garmin Express

1. Connect your Garmin Music device to the computer 2. Open Garmin Express 3. Select your Garmin Music device 4. Select Music

Adding music:

In the "My Music" list, select an audio file category, such as songs or playlists. If your music is not automatically displayed make sure that Garmin Express is up to date and that you have selected the folder that contains your music files. By default Garmin Express will search for files in the Music folder on your computer, but you can browse for other folders* by clicking next to "My Music." If your music still isn't displayed, click and then Refresh Library.

Select the checkboxes for the audio files you wish to add and then select Send to Device

Removing music:

In the Garmin Music Device list, select an audio file category, such as songs or playlists Select the checkboxes for the audio files you wish to remove and select Remove

*Media files must be stored on the hard drive of the computer. External drives and Cloud Storage (Home Network, Drive, etc.) will not be detected by Garmin Express.

Mac
