„State-of-art“ presentation of Regional Development Agency Zasavje, Slovenia Martin Šikovc and Patricija Sanchez Draksler Zasavje Regional Development Agency [email protected] 2nd July 2020 – Webinar „State-of-art“ Zasavje Region ▪ The Zasavje region lies in the heart of Slovenia, by the middle course of the Sava river and is surrounded by numerous hills and mountains among which the highest is Kum. ▪ It consists of three municipalities – Hrastnik, Trbovlje, and Zagorje ob Savi. ▪ It is known as an industrial region, thanks to along coal mining and glass-making tradition, as well as thermal electricity plant and chemical factory. 2 Regional Development Agency Zasavje ▪ Established by the three municipalities, the RDA Zasavje is the main (public) institution responsible for regional development of the Zasavje development region for the time period 2014–2020. ▪ Responsible for general development tasks, regional development program, the regional development agreement and regional projects. ▪ Professional and technical assistance for the functioning of the Council of the region, Regional development council and management of the regional development network. ▪ Implements instruments within the framework of the Competitiveness and Development Assistance Program for the area of municipalities Hrastnik, Radeče and Trbovlje in the time period 2013 – 2020. ▪ Etc. 3 Miners hiking trail „Pot Srečno“ ▪ Hiking trail through 4 municipalities – interregional connection of Zasavje with Savinjska region – Laško municipality. ▪ Common topic of mining – with informative signs about interesting sights, significant to the mining tradition. 4 Labour Film Festival „KAMERAT“ First edition of the festival planned before the epidemic… ▪ Planned in the beginning of July. ▪ Merge of industrial and cultural tourism. ▪ Selection of labour films by local and global artists. ▪ Unique venues – mine tunnel and „Steklarna Hrastnik“ glass factory – spotlighting industrial heritage. ▪ Exploring the foundation of our mining towns – labour and working class. 5 Reasons for participation and expected outcomes of the RAMSAT project Why?
