NARISSA AGUSTIN (Assistant Stage Manager) is thrilled to be making her Northern Stage debut, remotely! Previous credits include The School for Lies, The Wild Party, The Dining Room, Pippin, Spring Awakening, and Cuddles. Recently Narissa served as a Producer on The 24 Hour Plays: Nationals, virtually, with 40+ young artists from around the world. Narissa received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in stage management from the University of Miami. Go Canes! JACQUELINE BYRNE (Assistant Director) is so excited to be a part of the Northern Stage community as an E-term student. She currently lives in Montreal, but grew up in Switzerland and New Hampshire. She is a Junior (‘22) at Dartmouth College, majoring in Theater and minoring in English. She transferred to Dartmouth after freshman year at Chapman University and has been participating in theater since elementary school. Last summer, she interned at Jeffrey Richards Associates in producing and performed in her first Dartmouth show this past winter as Matty in The Sweet Science of Bruising. Other past roles include Clarice in The Liar and Olivia in Twelfth Night. ALEK DEVA (Film Designer/Editor) creates music, sound, and video for stories and storytelling, with a particular interest in live performance. Recent work: Jordan (world premiere, Northern Stage), Dear Elizabeth (Northern Stage), Macbeth (Northern Stage). Alek is also Co-Founder of Black Ink Presents, a live events design & production company. Black Ink highlights: Rocketman in Concert (world premiere featuring Elton John); La La Land in Concert at the Olympic Stadium in Seoul (featuring composer Justin Hurwitz); and Coco in Concert (filmed and released as a Disney+ special). Following her MFA in acting from University of Illinois-Urbana/Champaign, she has worked as a professional actor, director, playwright, dramaturg, educator, producer, and artistic consultant for over 20 years. Currently, she calls The Ensemble Theatre in Houston, Texas home where she serves as the BOLD Artistic Associate. She has worked with various theatres throughout the Houston community, including Driven Theater Company (DTC) where she is the founding Artistic Director. Her most exciting recent projects include: Sameness performed at Contemporary Arts Museum Houston (Playwright, Producer); Front Porch Society by Melda Beatty for The Ensemble Theatre at the National Black Theatre Festival in Winston-Salem, N.C. (Actor); pre-production directing work for Beatbox: a rapparetta by Tommy Shepherd and Dan Wolf, Pipeline by Dominique Morisseau (Best Director Giorgee Award at The Ensemble Theatre), and devised works creator for multiple conferences. Rachel is a proud member of the board at Northern Stage, Scriptwriters Houston, Dramatist Guild and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. ABOUT THE COMPANY
NURI HAZZARD (Eric) represents the finest of the DMV and is electric with his arts. Raw and soulful, his focus is telling the stories that need to get told. Nuri was born an eclectic, creative person, but his formal training as an artist began at Duke Ellington School of the Arts. It’s there that he built the foundations for his artistry and found the freedom to explore different mediums of expression. Within a year of his acting training, he had begun making music, motivated by a love for hip-hop and connecting to people. Nuri had a hunger for more, which led him to the University of North Carolina School of the Arts to continue his acting training. The acting and the music proved to have a symbiotic relationship, giving perspectives, experiences, and skillsets that strengthened each other. Since graduating, Nuri has been releasing albums, acting on stage and on camera, writing screenplays for himself and others, and teaching students from elementary to high school. His latest offering have been his recurring role as Byron in Wu-Tang: American Saga and his role as Jamal in the off-Broadway hit Syncing Ink! CELESTE JENNINGS (Costume Consultant) is a playwright and costume designer who is passionate about creating art that challenges social norms and accurately represents minority characters and their stories. She considers her work to be a form of activism and aims to deconstruct barriers between performers and actors. Plawright and Costume Designer for Citrus (Northern Stage). Assistant design credits include Mlima’s Tale (Public Theatre) as well as Cardinal (2nd Stage Theatre). Recent design credits include Jonkonnu (Howard University), Twelfth Night (National Black Theatre Festival), It’s Fine, I’m Fine (Dartmouth College), The Ties that Bind (Catholic University). JOHN KROFT (Steve) is a New York based actor where he has appeared in Dan Cody’s Yacht (MTC), Arcadia (Juilliard) and Troilus and Cressida (Columbia). Regionally, he has performed in such shows as Lifespan of a Fact (Pioneer Theater Company), The Great Gatsby (Bay Street Theater), and Bram Stoker’s Dracula, (Williamstown Theater festival), as well as a number of workshops for The Sundance Institute, Eugene O’Neil’s National Playwright’s Conference, and The Chautauqua Theater Company. He has appeared on TV in Blue Bloods and Red Oaks, as well as in handful of independent and short films. KATE MARVIN (Sound Designer) is a composer, designer, and musician based in New York. JAMES ROEDER (Scenic Consultant) has been working at Northern Stage since mid- August 2015. He has an undergraduate degree in Theatre Design and Technology from the University of Evansville, in Evansville, Indiana. He has worked in the Upper Valley as both a Properties Artisan and a Scenic Designer. His previous design work includes Vinegar Tom, Anatomy of Gray, Don’t Dress for Dinner, Young Frankenstein, Anne of Green Gables, Red White and Tuna, Jane Eyre, The Triangle Factory Fire Project, The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, The Secret Garden, and School of Rock. He is excited to continue his Design work and Props work in the Upper Valley and looks forward to many more projects to come. HELEN ROOKER (Lighting Consultant) Helen Rooker is an Upper Valley native who has only recently returned. She is overjoyed to be back working at Northern Stage for her fourth year, and fourth capacity! After college she toured internationally with Teatro Travieso (Troublemaker Theatre) before settling in to Northern Stage.
