IMPRESSIVE REVIEW

Impressive Review, a 1982 palomino was bred by the legendary Tommy Manion. Review, as he was affectionately called, was sired by an own son of Impressive, Pretty Impressive, and out of the Hank Wiescamp bred mare Taffy Skip by Skip A Barb. Review got off to an extremely prominent show career early in life placing 4th in the AQHA world show weaning . Review went on to be the 1984 AQHA High point 2 year old stallion in the nation, a Superior with 92 halter points, 65 AQHA Grand Champions, and 22 AQHA Reserve Champion Awards. Review was also named the 1984 Palomino World Champion 2 year old stallion.

Impressive Review’s first foal crop arrived in 1985. Review literally dominated the Palomino Horse Breeders of America. Out of the first 3 crops, Review sired 8 World Champions and 6 Reserve World Champions. Out of his first crop also came an AQHA Superior champion, Impress Te Review, and several AQHA world show qualifiers.

John Narmont developed a passion for when first introduced to ponies belonging to his aunt. Only 6 years old, he used every opportunity he had to make the hour trip to his aunt’s farm, making friends with a neighbor who had horses. It wasn’t until John graduated from law school that he had the opportunity to pursue his dream, to have horses of his own. John fell in love with Impressive Review and in 1988 brought him to Richland Ranch, Auburn, Illinois to stand at stud. As a breeding stallion Review sired 354 AQHA registered foals over 12 foal crops and 200 went on to be show horses. Review’s foals earned over 1800 points with the majority earned in halter. Reviews get earned 6 performance ROM’s, 6 Superior awards, 8 show all arounds, and 12 show reserve all arounds. Review’s offspring went on to earn over $52,000. In AQHA incentive fund money!

His mark on the Palomino world is phenomenal! His get have earned over 10400 PHBA points in halter and over 4400 PHBA performance points. Among his world champions are Lady Review 1987 & 1988 2 & 3 year old mares, Solid Gold Review, 1988 2 yr old mares, and Jacks Dusty Review 1989 3 yr old mares. Review was listed as one of the top ten PHBA sires for 1988 with 24 of his offspring earning 940 points. The Impressive Reviews’ also won countless Illinois halter futurities and Solid Gold Futurities.

All in all Review left this world with get earning over 1836 AQHA points, 14,974 PBHA points, $52,600 AQHA incentive fund earnings, $8040 AQHA world show earnings, and $415 NSBA earnings. Impressive Review died in November 1995 from complications of a joint injury. He was laid to rest under his sign outside the Richland Ranch office.
