Install the OverDrive Media Console App on a Kindle Fire and ‘get ’

This app is required if you want to download library in the EPUB format . Install OverDrive Media Console App

1. Go to http://www.overdrive.com/software/omc from your mobile device. 2. Tap download OverDrive Media Console for Android from OverDrive . 3. Review the license agreement. Tap I Agree to download the installation file. 4. Pull down the notification bar. Tap ODMediaConsoleSetup.apk once the download is complete. 5. If prompted, open the file with the 'Package Installer'. 6. If you get the 'Install blocked' message, follow our instructions to allow installation from 'Unknown Sources'. If you don't get this message, continue on. 7. Review the application permissions. Tap Install to start the installation. The app installs. 8. Tap Open to launch OMC for Android, or tap Done to close the installer. Using the ‘Get Books’ Feature of the OverDrive Media Console App

You can use the ‘Get Books’ feature to visit the Līve-brary Downloads site [http://downloads.live- brary.com] and download titles to your Fire.

1. Open the OverDrive Media Console App on your Kindle Fire. 2. Swipe from right to left to view the ‘get books’ screen. 3. Tap more . 4. Swipe from right to left to get the search screen. 5. Enter your library’s name, city, or postal code in the ‘search for a library’ box. Tap submit . 6. Tap the next to a library to add it to your list. 7. Tap a library from the ‘get books’ list to go to the library’s mobile site. Getting EPUB eBooks on a Kindle Fire

1. Go to Settings > More > Device, and turn on “ Allow Installation of Applications from Unknown Sources ”. Note : You can turn this off when you are done with this installation.

2. Go to the Android Store and download AndroXplorer, which allows you to browse the file structure of your Kindle Fire. 3. Using the Android Web browser, go to http://overdrive.com/software/omc . 4. Click on the Android option to download, and look below the box for the link that states “If your device does not support Android Market, you can download OverDrive Media Console for Android from OverDrive”.

5. Accept the licensing terms and you will see a short pop-up stating “download application”. You will not be able to see the application in your Kindle Fire App Menu yet. 6. Open the AndroXplorer application you downloaded on the Kindle Fire, and navigate to the sdcard directory, and then to the Download directory. You will see “ODMediaConsoleSetup.apk” in the Download directory. Click on it and it will install the OverDrive Media Console on your Kindle Fire. Note : You can delete this download file later once everything is completed.

7. Visit http://downloads.live-brary.com to download EPUB eBooks. Note : You may need to download a third-party browser app, Maxtor, to browse for EPUB formats on the Kindle Fire. This is a popular third-party browser made for the Kindle Fire. Visit the Amazon Android Store and search for ‘Maxtor’.

8. If you do not have an Adobe ID, you will be prompted to create one. 9. Your OverDrive Media Console app will now show up in your App Menu. 10. When you have found a title, add it to your cart. 5. Tap Proceed to Checkout . 6. When prompted, select your home library from the drop-down menu and sign in with your library barcode number. 7. Tap Confirm Checkout . 8. Tap Download . 9. Once the download is complete, tap the title and start reading.
