On considering facts and circumstance of the case and Judicial custody of accused for past 11 days, petitioner is enlarged on bail subject to following conditions that: (i) Petitioner shall execute bond for Rs.10,000/- each with two sureties. In the reply submitted by police on 4th November, police and prosecution has raised strong objection in releasing the accused on bail stating that the prosecution submitted that if the petitioner is released on bail he will tamper the witnesses and hamper the investigation, he may continue to the same kind of offence, Investigation is still pending. Hence, the prosecution strongly oppose to allow this petition and may be dismissed. 5. Material submitted through email were perused. Considering the facts and circumstances of this case, Nature of the offence, objection and stage of the investigation, this court does not incline to grant bail to the petitioner. The petitioner submits that there is no bail petition is presently pending before the Hon'ble high court of Judicature, Madras in the above case. Thus he prayed for release on bail. 4. Lekeshmanaswamy Department of Zoology, Kongunadu Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Coimbatore-641 029, Tamil Nadu, India Abstract The present study deals with the diversity of ants in Karamadi region of Coimbatore, india. Ants were collected from different sited of karamadi region with the help of trapping, brush method and hand picking method. Twenty three species were identified among the 4 subfamilies reported were subfamily Formicinae was dominated with 10 species followed by Myrmicinae with 9 species, Dolichoderinae and Pseudomyrmicinae with 2 species each. Ant diversity is less in karmadi region compared with Periyanaickenpalayam region. Keywords: Ants, karamadi, Diversity. Introduction Biodiversity conservation and management are of worldwide concerns. Ant is one of the most diverse and ubiquitous groups of the social insect. Ant belongs to a single large family Formicidae, largest of order Hymenoptera. It is represented by 26 extant subfamilies with 14,711 valid species and 428 valid genera [1]; out of these, 152 species are listed by IUCN and from India, 10 subfamilies are represented by 100 genera with 828 species. In India, Himalaya and the Western Ghats harbor a large number of ant species, 656 species from 88 genera were recorded from Himalaya, and 455 species from 75 genera were recorded from the Western Ghats, especially in Tamil Nadu, 184 species from 51 genera were recorded [2, 3]. They can serve as model organisms for exploring the nature and dynamics of ecological communities due to the ease with which they can be sampled and the potential for experimental manipulation [2, 3].

(15) Colonel Fullarton occupied the city in 1783 but later returned to Tipu Sultan as per the Treaty of Mangalore (15) At the beginning of the Third Mysore War, Coimbatore was, once again, taken by the British. (15) Tipu Sultan besieged the city twice and repulsed in the first, he was successful in the second and Coimbatore surrendered in October 1791. The commanders of the garrison, Lieutenant Chalmers and Lieutenant Nash were taken as prisoners to Seringapatnam. [15] Coimbatore fell to the British at the end of the Third Mysore War but was restored to Tipu Sultan at the cessation of hostilities. 15) Coimbatore was eventually annexed by the British on the defeat and death of Tipu Sultan in 1799. Coimbatore was taken by the Polygars in 1800 and was an important stronghold in the Polygar Wars. It was made capital of Coimbatore district in 1865. The municipality of Coimbatore was created in 1866 as per the Town Improvements Act 1865 with Robert Stanes as the first Chairman.[15][16] Stanes pioneered the industrialization of Coimbatore, establishing a number of textile mills. As per the 1871 census, the first in India, Coimbatore had a population of 35,310 and was the tenth largest town in the Madras Presidency.
