We are working hard to prepare for whatever lays ahead of us to try and ensure we play softball in 2021. COVID-19 presented many new challenges for all of us and resulted in many cancellations and disruptions to not only our participation in softball but to our entire lives. However, with these many challenges the coronavirus also led to many positives in how we administer our programs and services. The use of teleconferencing tools such as Zoom has resulted in us having much better and more consistent communications with our members. The use of Town Hall Meetings will enable us to have direct and personal contact with our member Associations. Zoom will also assist us in being able to effectively implement Coaches Meeting for Provincial Championships going forward. It is unfortunate that the 2021 Saskatchewan Summer Games in Lloydminster had to be cancelled but we respect that due to health and safety reasons this needed to be done. We are sad for the athletes and coaches who would have had the opportunity to participate in this most unique multi-sport event. We remain hopeful and optimistic that the 2022 Canada Summer Games in the Niagara Region will proceed as planned. We know our coaching staffs are working hard on plans to prepare our teams and select the top male and female athletes in our province for this most prestigious event. Finally, I want to ensure our members that we are working hard to prepare and plan for a successful season of softball in 2021. As has been the case this past year we will be flexible and able to adapt to make every effort for local leagues and Associations to enjoy the great game of softball. May everyone take care and stay safe. Question: How many people were invited to attend response sessions? Comments indicated that there did not seem to be a big turn-out for this session. Answer: There were 25 people invited to this meeting. It was agreed that fewer people were in attendance than we hoped. Kent indicated that between 10 to 12 people is optimal for this type of session. Robin indicated that due to the large number of municipalities, the sector group was split into two sessions for upstream and downstream communities. Kent discussed the background of the process and asked whether the participants had attended the first meeting in Outlook. Comments indicated that all of the participants had attended the May 30th meeting.
