The Donovan Concert - Live in L.A. is a spectacular performance at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood from January 21, 2007. This incredible performance DVD was recorded in front of a packed house of adoring fans at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, California on January 21, 2007. On this, his first Music DVD, Donovan performed all his legendary hits and cult classics. Master filmmaker David Lynch introduced the concert held to benefit the David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace; a program which funds in-school Transcendental Meditation programs for at-risk youth. The ceremony will take place at the Majestic Hotel at 4 p.m. Donovan will be honored along with two other medal recipients: Paul Zilk, the CEO and president of Reed MIDEM; and Philippe Jaroussky, the famed French sopranist countertenor. Donovan and John Illsley of Dire Straits & His Band
2nd July 2010, Roxburgh Theatre, Stowe Featuring leading rock artists: Donovan and John Illsley of Dire Straits & his band Donovan the legendary singer-songerwriter of the 1960s, an influence on Bob Dylan and the Beatles, is widely regarded as one of the most original voices in British pop music. His greatest hits include classics such as: • ‘Catch the Wind’ • Mellow Yellow • ‘Hurdy Gurdy Man’ • ‘Jennifer Juniper’ • ‘Epistle to Dippy’ • ‘There Is a Mountain’ • ‘Wear Your Love Like Heaven’ • ‘Atlantis’ • ‘Laléna’ • ‘Dare to Be Different’ • ‘Riki Tiki Tavi’ • ‘Candy Man’ • ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll with Me’ • ‘Season of the Witch’ • ‘Museum’ • John Illsley a founder member of the band Dire Straits, with Mark Knopfler, went on to create one of the most successful bands of all time. John has recently formed a new band after recording his latest solo cd ‘Streets of Heaven’. They are currently on tour and will be performing classic Dire Straits hits as well as songs from the new cd. These will be the only life sized statues of the Beatles outside of Liverpool and will be positioned outside the Roxburgh Theatre when they are completed.
