THE TRAGIC CASE OF LUIS BARROSO FERNANDES

Did a beam of light from a UFO cause the death of Luis Barroso Fernandes? Brazilian author and investigator Thiago Luiz Ticchetti takes a look at the evidence.

t dawn of April 3rd, 1976, one of the most impressive cases in Brazilian history occurred. On this date, several residents of the city Aof Quixadá, Ceará, witnessed the arrival of an unidentified flying object over the city. For one of these witnesses, this case would mean much more than a simple UFO sighting, so commonplace in the region. It represented a radical change in the life of one of these witnesses. Before the sighting he was in perfect phyiscal condition but afterwards he was struck down by an illness that no doctor diagnose.

The events of that day began around 4.30 in the morning when shooting practice took place at an outdoor physical education assciation which was part of the military. Those taking part all stared in amazement at the appearance of a large flying object shaped like a disk appeared out of nowhere. The disk emitted an intense bright light and was completely silent. The military personnel present thought the UFO was some sort of device launched from another nearby military installation.

At the same time as the military sighting, in another part of the city, a gentleman by the name of Luis Barroso Fernandes was preparing to travel to a location just a few kilometers from the city. He took a map, mounted his donkey and cart and said goodbye to his wife, and continued on his journey. As it was just about dawn it was still dark when he off.

After walking for a few kilometers, Fernandes heard a buzzing sound like a swarm of bees. He looked around but saw nothing, and resolved to continue on his journey. Suddenly, a unidentified flying object about 3 meters in diameter appeared above him. Scared, Luis Barroso pulled on the reins of his donkey and stopped to watch the strange device that was now slowly descending in front of him, some 30 meters away. At that moment, the animal stepped back, seemingly frightened by the presence of the object. Suddenly, the device emiteds a beam of light that struck the animal and Luis Fernandes, who immediately become paralyzed.

Now a door opened on the UFO through which came two small beings. One of them held an object similar to a flashlight, with which he aimed and fired a beam of light that struck Luis Fernandes in the face. With that, Luis Fernandes immediately lost consciousness. Upon regaining conciosness he realized that he was some distance away

from the place where the horse and cart had stopped. He felt dizzy, he was trembling and he had a burning on his face. He also trouble beeathing and had an intense headache. Sometimes when you get a target number, it can be natural for your brain to spit out some images immediately before you’re really into your session, and we will typically account for those. Whatever your brain is spitting out initially, you will write them or draw them.

I always write the target number twice. I do this because it’s just part of my ritual to say I’m calming down now. I’m going into the state of remote viewing. Everyone develops their own process when they’ve been doing remote viewing for a long time. For me, the first time I’m writing the number, I’m thinking of beginning the process, of sinking in and letting the rest of the world go. When I write it the second time, I’m committing on a deeper level. You go through these different questions where you’re looking for shapes, you’re looking for smells, you’re asking yourself each question, if this is how you find you work the best. And if an impression doesn’t rise up immediately, you simply repeat the process of taking a breath, dropping down into your relaxed state again and clearing everything off to a blank screen.

I’m sure some people use tricks in which they’ll have an actual screen in their mind, like a blank TV, or some people will open curtains. But for me, it’s just always important that if there’s anything in my mind I just push it aside to a complete blank and then I let something emerge out of that. Never chase it. If you’re chasing after the answers, that is a ‘left brain’ ego thing that you’re doing. This should be the opposite, absolutely passive. A process of letting go and something then emerges in the empty space. That’s how the information comes up, It’s almost like the left brain asked the question and the right brain answers with its impressions, then the left brain has to interpret it. Honestly, it is this fascinating balance between the conscious and subconscious, the left brain and the right brain.

INADVERTENTLY LEAVING ‘DOORS’ OPEN As I mentioned, I was having interesting, you could say paranormal, experiences happen prior to my involvement in remote viewing, which is why I attached to it. I do feel, honestly, that things kind of intensified after I got into remote viewing, but nothing that has been unmanageable. In my own UFO research, cases of people punching aliens are rare, and yet, it does happen. One example comes from “Tim,” a sports instructor from New Iberia, Louisiana. As a boy, Tim had a series of close-up UFO sightings and missing time incidents. He began having dreams at night that he was onboard a craft, though he wasn’t sure if these were just dreams or actual encounters. The encounters continued into his teen- age years.
