Application for Admission to The Drisha July College June 27-July 29, 2016

Thank you for your interest in Drisha’s July Kollel for college students. July is a wonderful time to be at Drisha. Women of all ages fill the Beit , their voices rising and falling as they debate the meanings of ancient texts. The July College Kollel is fueled by Drisha’s vision of the role study plays in the life of the committed Jew. Participants engage in an immersive learning program in which Torah is studied with passion, rigor, and commitment.

The schedule includes in the mornings, and Tanakh, , and Jewish Thought in the afternoons. There will be weekly night seder on Wednesday evenings, a Shabbaton on July 8-10, an Open Beit Midrash Night on July 19, and other occasional evening activities. All participants engage in community service (e.g. cooking for or staffing a nearby homeless shelter) throughout the month.

Participants receive a $1,000 stipend upon full completion of the program.

Participants in the Kollel are expected to:

 Dedicate themselves to a month of with passion, honesty, diligence, and respect.  Participate fully in all aspects of programming, contributing their focus and energy to the group. This entails arriving on time in the morning and exhibiting promptness throughout the day. In general, they are asked to look for ways to contribute to the betterment of the program and the experience of their peers in whatever ways they can.  Use the experience from the program to further their own Talmud Torah, as well as that of others.
