Kading Ensemble. Many of our alumni go on to perform in L.A., N.Y.C., off and on Costume Design Susan Thomas Broadway. Sound and Lighting Design Shannon Zura Emmy Award-winning actor Tony Shalhoub (Monk) and award-winning Hair and Makeup Design Desiray Roy playwright and screenwriter Lynn Sieffert are USM theatre graduates. Our professional faculty directors and designers work at some of the best regional theaters in the country such as those mentioned above, as well as The Walnut Cast Street Theatre, The Alabama Shakespeare Festival, The Alley Theatre in Laura Reynolds Heather Scarnrnan Houston, North Shore Music Theatre, and The Seattle Repertory Theatre. Herbert Lee Joe Mcleod Artistic Director Maria Tzianabos December 10-13, 2010 Setting Tea and Sympathy is the story of a lonely and misunderstood Student dancers, choreographers and designers share the spotlight with seasoned youth who, because he has artistic sensibilities, and has played professionals in USM's annual celebration of bodies in motion. Stories are women's parts in amateur theatricals, is wrongly suspected of woven with sound, costume, light and movement in this evening of original homosexual tendencies. Artistic Staff Cast Biographies Assistant Director Felicia Noyes Assistant Lighting Design Florence Cooley Hunter Jandreau (David Harris) Assistant Hair and Makeup Design Kaitlin O'Reilly Hunter is currently a theatre major at USM. He hails from northern Maine Aroostook County. Past roles in Summer Theatre included "Orgon" - Tartuffe. Production Staff Memorable High School roles included "Roy Hubley" - Plaza Suite, Stage Manager Cat Ballou "Cogsworth" - Beauty and The Beast, and "Mr. Mushnik" - Little Shop of Assistant Stage Managers Allison Johnston, Emily Platt, Horrors. He received an All Festival Cast Award for his role as "Phillip Glass" - Scott Reiner Shorts By St. Ives. Technical Director Perry Fertig Carpenters Stagecraft Practicum, Dan Bernardini, Sarah Dube, Brandon Johnson (Steve) Emily Waller, Teddy Mattson, Brie Hopkins, Brian Essman, Brandon is a second year theatre major hailing from the small town of Searsport, August Delisle, Jes Dummich, Simon Skold Maine. This is his third appearance on the Main Stage and he is thrilled to be on Costume Director . Kris Hall stage again. Previous roles include "Boy" in The Distance From Here and Stitchers Aubrey Anderson, Sebastion Brin, Hannah Brown, "Buoso Donati" in the the one-act opera Gianni Schicchi. Brandon also has a Laura Collard, Michael Frier, Heather Freshour, Megan Jackson, published play entitled Unwanted Adventure which won 4th place in the country Brandon Johnson, Michael Lynch, Hillary Perry, Hannah Perry, in a recent competiton for Baker's Plays. · Desiray Roy, and Costume Practicum Master Electrician Flo Cooley Meredith Lamothe (Lilly Sears) Electricians Danny Gay, Neil Morton, and Lighting Practicum Meredith is a junior theatre major from Wells, Maine. She is thrilled to be Sound Engineer Marcus Ingerson working on this show with such a wonderful cast and crew. Previous shows at Properties Construction Kaitlin Small University of Southern Maine include Moonchildren (Shelly), The Fantasticks (Luisa) and The Bald Soprano (Mrs. Smith). She also played Patty in Legacy Production Crew Theater's summer production of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown! Many Light Board Operator Katherine A. Smith thanks to her family and friends and to Bill for this opportunity. Sound Board Operator Elias Bresnick Deck Head Kyle Dennis Patrick Molloy (Bill Reynolds) Deck Crew James J. Eckstein, Alexa Buitrago, Patrick is a freshman theatre major from Orono, ME. Past roles include Wardrobe Jes Dummich, Jessica Johnson, Melissa Ngo "Joyce/Bracken" in Double Cross and "Trotsky" in Variations on the Death of Trotsky. Patrick has received best actor awards from Orono High School and All­ Festival Cast awards from regional and state one-act festivals.

Administrative Staff Alec Rose (Phil) Alec is a sophomore geosciences major who recently transferred to USM from Theatre Promotions Director/Photography Troy R. Bennett Clark University. Past theater credits include "Henry" from Thomas Kilroy's Arts Events Director Emmanuelle Chaulet Henry, and "Schlomo Metzenbaum" from Clark Musical Theater's production of Administrative Assistant Lil Campbell Fame! House Manager Hayley O'Connor Graphic Design Jake MacGillivary Heather Scamman (Laura) Program Franklin Kendrick Heather is a fifth year theatre major here at USM, hoping to graduate this December. Past credits at USM include "Harriet Stanley" in The Man Who Came to Dinner and "Miranda" in The Tempest. Outside of USM, Heather is a company member with Acom Productions' Naked Shakespeare Ensemble, and could have been spotted at the St. Lawrence this August as "Renee Vivien" in Greetings from Lesbos, Maine. Artistic Staff Biographies Shannon Zura (Sound and Lighting Design) Shannon Zura most recently designed sound for Philadelphia Shakespeare Company's Romeo and Juliet and Taming of the Shrew, and the lights for the world premiere of William Steele (Director) has been teaching theater and directing plays at the House, Divided at InterAct Theatre Company, Portland Stage Company's Longfellow: University of Southern Maine for many years. He is an award-winning playwright and A Life in Words, and Delaware Theatre Company's Retreat from Moscow and The drama critic, the author of four books on theater and film and a professional actor with Syringa Tree. She has previously designed the lights and sound for InterAct Theatre many national and regional film and television credits. Favorite shows directed Company's productions of Kiss of the Spider Woman and American Sublime. In include 's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? at Freeport Players; Bernard March 2005, Shannon was featured in Stage Directions Magazine's salute to Slade's Same Time Next Year at Good Theater; and 's Fool for Love, outstanding women in theatre. Shannon holds an MFA in Lighting Design from David Auburn's , Machiavelli's The Mandrake, David Rabe's Streamers, Arthur Temple University and is currently teaching lighting and sound design at the Miller's All My Sons, ' Small Craft Warnings and A View from University of Southern Maine. the Bridge, Arthur Kopit's Oh, Dad, Poor, Dad, and Mark Medoffs When You Comin Back, Red Ryder? at USM. He has held governmental appointments to the Maine Arts Desiray Roy (Hair and Makeup Design) Commission, the New England Foundation for the Arts and the Governor's Advisory Desiray is a 4th year theatre major from Little Deer Isle, Maine. This is her first Committee on Public Broadcasting. period-based and second mainstage costume design. Her most recent designs include SP A's spring '09 production of The Distance From Here, by Neil Labute, and Sam Felicia Noyes (Assistant Director) Shepard's, Fool For Love, both for which the American College Theater Festival Felicia Noyes is from a small town in Eastern Vermont. She is a first year student and nominated her to compete in the design competition. Some of her other costume is majoring in Media Studies with a main focus in screenwriting and directing. Felicia designs include multiple designs for Dance USM, the School of Music's production of enjoys watching TV, hanging with friends, writing, and creating short films in her The Spirit of Reindeer, and Death and the Maiden by Ariel Dorfman. spare time. Her friends describe her as always being seen either with a pencil in one hand and a notepad in the other or with her video camera. She has worked on plays in Kris Hall (Costume Director) is returning to USM for her 9th season. Other design credits include Julius Caesar at Portland Stage; Pump Boys include Titanic, Hans Christian Andersen, Ragtime, and Aida for Maine State Music and Dinettes at Maine State Music Theatre; Doubt and Almost Maine at the Public Theatre; Big River, My Fair Lady, 42nd Street, Cabaret, and Annie for Philadelphia's Theatre in Lewiston; Suor Angelica and The Tempest at USM as well as the feature Walnut Street Theater; Noises Off! and Blithe Spirit at the Alabama Shakespeare length independent film Mr. Barrington. Kris received her BA in Political Science Festival. He worked extensively at The Alley Theater in Houston where his credits from USM and her MFA in Studio Art from MECA. While this is her first time working at USM Susan has worked productions as City of Angels, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and Annie Get Your Gun. with many of the USM Theatre Department Faculty and Staff both at Portland Stage She'd like to thank the department for this fantastic opportunity, and her mom for her Company and at Maine State Music Theater. Susan has worked in the costume shops of a variety of regional theatres including: Maine State Music Theater, Geva Theater Center, Shakespeare & Company, The Theater at Monmouth, Fenix Theatre Company, The Opera House at Boothbay Harbor, and Port Opera. Uris production is entered in the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCAC11·'). '!be aims of this national theater education program arc to identify and promote quality in college-level theater production. To this end, each production entered is eligible for a response by a regional KCACTF representative, and selected students and faculty are invited to participate in KCACTF programs involving scholarships, internships, grants and awards for actors, directors, dramaturgs, playwrights, designers, stage managers and critics, at both the regional and national levels.

Productions entered on the Participating k:vd are eligible for inclusion at the KCAC1F regional festival and can also be considered for invitation to the KCACTF national festival at the John F. Kennedy Cc:::nlc:::r for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC in the spring of 2010.

Last year more than 1,300 productions were entered in the KCACTF involving more than 200,000 students nationwide. By entering this production, our theater department is sharing in the KCACTF goals to recognize, reward, and celebrate the exemplary work produced in college and university theaters across the nation.
