THE OLDEST KOREAN RADIO STATION in the NEW YORK METROPOLITAN AREA ABOUT US AM1660 K-Radio Is the Oldest Korean Radio Station in the East Coast THE OLDEST KOREAN RADIO STATION IN THE NEW YORK METROPOLITAN AREA ABOUT US AM1660 K-Radio is the oldest Korean radio station in the east coast. Since its first establishment in the 1980s, AM1660 K-Radio has served approximately a million Korean-Americans both in New York and New Jersey. The number of Korean Americans in the east coast has been growing constantly and it is continuing to grow today. As a result, Korean-Americans have a great impact on various industries such as food, beauty and health. In addition, they are one of the biggest consumers for small businesses in their communities, including grocery stores, nail salons, dry cleaners, etc. Korean- Americans both produce and purchase goods and services, making them a group of people with strong purchasing powers in the New York and New Jersey area. As of 2020, Korean-Americans make up one of the largest ethnic groups in the New York Metropolitan region, and AM1660 K-Radio is the means by which most Korean-Americans listen to news, live music, etc. Listeners send their stories and song recommendations to the show hosts via the company's messaging app, which further enhances their listening experiences and makes them willing to tune in live. Starting with just two hours of broadcast in the 1980s, AM1660 K-Radio has evolved into being a 24-hour platform since 2004. The radio covers the tri-state areas of New York and New Jersey, but listeners can also use the radio's mobile app to listen to news, songs and shows in other areas. AM1660 K-Radio has been the most reliable source for Korean-Americans to be on top of current events as well as entertainment news. The station acquired management rights of WWRU AM1660 in 2015. Since then, it has been striving to deliver the highest-quality Korean broadcasting for the Korean communities residing in the New York and New Jersey regions. Not only do Koreans tune in to our shows to listen to talk shows and news in their native language but with the rise of K-Pop as one of the most popular music genres among the millennials and Gen Z, the age range and the ethnic groups of AM1660 K- Radio's listeners have become more diversified. 1 COMMUNITY Every year, we host cultural festivals, walkathons, music competitions, fall foliage trips, golf tournaments, K-pop auditions, charity events, disaster relief campaigns, etc. for the Korean-American community. Many of these events are sponsored by our partner companies and businesses. Not only are these events a chance to bring the Korean community together and serve others, but it is also a chance for businesses to introduce their brands to potential consumers and clients. 2 CIVIC ENGAGEMENT (From top left to right) Christopher Chung, Mayor of Palisades Park, Bill de Blasio, Mayor of New York City, Ron Kim, State Assemblyman of New York (From bottom left to right) Kirsten Gillibrand, New York Senator, Paul Vallone, Councilman of New York City, Grace Meng, Representaitve of New York Both political and business leaders have utilized AM1660 K-radio to deliver their messages and advocate their cause to the Korean-American communities across New York and New Jersey. AM1660 K-Radio has supported many civil rights movements as well as natural disaster relief campaigns for many years. AM1660 K-radio hopes to be the voice for those who are unheard and have no means to voice out their opinions. 3 K-POP PHENOMENON For many years, AM1660 K-Radio has hosted musicals and live concerts in and around New York City. We have invited many famous Korean artists to New York in order for them to perform for our American listeners. We are proud to be the main sources for which K-Pop fans can connect with their favorite artists. We believe that music is a universal language that can bring people of all ethnicities together, especially in a multicultural center like New York City. We hope to let others become more familiar with not only Korean music but other aspects of the Korean culture as well such as food and language. 4 CAMPAIGN Senior Campaigns Promote healthy lifestyles for the elderly and provide health information through our "Living For a Century" Campaign Health Campaigns Promote healthy lifestyles and habits and inform listeners about ways to prevent diseases and improve the immune system Youth Campaigns Helps 2nd-generation Korean- Americans to cope with possible identity crisis that might come in their teen years and provide tips on how to study better Environmental Campaigns Through our "Making a Better World" campaign, inform our listeners about ways to make the world more environment-friendly Disaster Relief & Charity Campaigns Aims to bring the Korean community together to help out those who have been affected by natural disasters in the United States. We also gather money from our 5 sponsors and listeners to donate to other communities in need of help COVERAGE According to the Korean Consulate in New York, around 500,000 Koreans live in these regions across the east coast NEW YORK NEW JERSEY PENNSYLVANIA CONNECTICUT DELAWARE OTHER 6 POPULATION GROWTH The Asian American population in the United States has grown significantly the past 20 years *Since 2000, the Asian American population grew 72% Median Yearly Household Income 7 STATS ON KOREAN- AMERICANS Korean-Americans are the third largest Asian-American group in the United States after the Chinese and Indians. It's important to note, however, that many of the Chinese who immigrated to the U.S. are from Manchuria, a region densely populated by Korean-speaking Chinese citizens. As a result, a lot of Chinese people living in the New York Metropolitan area speak and understand Korean. 8 korean-americans resident status 9 AM1660 K-RADIO WEBSITE TRAFFIC ANALYSIS Gender Country Time Age Source: Analytics Website Data 10 PROGRAMS 11 12 K-RADIO ON RADIO, INTERNET AND MOBILE APP 13 ADVERTISEMENTS 14 AD PRODUCTION PROCESS 15 RATES 16 manhattan office MAIN OFFICE new jersey office 37w 32nd st. 5 fl. new york, ny 10001 209-35 Northern blvd. #212 bayside, ny 11361 530 main st. #4 fort lee, nj 07024 phone: 614) 699-1660 phone: 718) 352-1660 phone: 201) 242-1660 fax: 646) 649-5565 fax: 718) 352-1663 fax: 201) 242-1662.
