OAKLAND NOTES  The Oakland Athletics have won two of the last three games to snap their season-high nine-game losing streak…are 20-5 when scoring four or more runs compared to 4-26 when scoring three runs or less…are 1-0 on this four-game homestand against Texas.  The A’s scored 12 runs on 15 hits, both season-highs (previous: 11 runs on 13 hits, May 11 vs. Detroit)…scored eight runs and had eight hits in the second inning, which are season-highs for a single inning…the eight runs are their most in an inning since scoring nine runs July 27 of last year vs. Tampa Bay (4th inning).  Jarrod Parker tossed seven hitless innings before Young led off the eighth with a single to center…tossed a career-high eight innings (previous: 7.0, twice; last: May 23, 2012 vs. Los Angeles-AL)…has allowed one run or fewer in five of his eight starts and two runs or fewer in all but one…has a 2.40 ERA (13 er in 48.2 ip), which is the lowest among American League rookies with at least 40 innings pitched.  (1 for 5) is on a career-high six-game hitting streak (12 for 27, .444).  Brandon Inge (2 for 4) hit a three-run home run in the second inning…now has six home runs for the season, all of which have come with runners on base (one two-run, three three-run, two grand slams).  Kila Ka’aihue (2 for 4) hit a home run in the fifth inning…four of his last five hits (one double, three home runs) and nine of his last 12 (five doubles, four home runs) are for extra bases.  Cliff Pennington (2 for 4) snapped his career-high 0 for 29 streak with a two-run double in the second inning.  Seth Smith (4 for 5) had a career-high tying four hits (also Sept. 4, 2009 vs. Arizona).
