Run Nr.: 3706 Date: 15th December 2014 Hare: Ken Wong Co-Hares: A few Runners: 70 Distance: ~ 11km. Checks: 5 FROPs: Ah Meng Time: 7.35pm. Guests: Bandaraya, Dennis Choo, Nick and Flying Dragon Returnees: None

With rain out of the way today, having cleared itself before 4pm, the pack were looking forward to a good run, until they heard that Fong Wan was the mastermind! On Sec bounded off at 6pm and the trail led down the road to the usual entrance nearer the older parking area.

The trail turned left down a steep slope, then along the river before it turned into the jungle where a check was placed. But not before a treacherous stream-crossing which had a thin pole across with a flimsy wire for a handhold.

The trail was a simple one and anti-clockwise with runners returning in the dark near the runsite. But all enjoyed it and Fong Wan was quite happy that many liked it, never mind those who did not.

It was not long before that the Police came along and relayed complaints from the residents. The last few seeks had a few chapters running from this spot and had made a lot of noise. But we promised that we would not and they were off. Members who want to use this spot again, take note and use the old runsite nearer the entrance.

Circle was up and running by 8.45pm. The butler was Reid. The hare and his co-hares were given their drink for the run. On Cash was happy that except for 3 members, all had paid for the year and some for the next. To the cheers of all, he announced that he would be away for the next 3 weeks. (But there will be a stand-in On Cash – On Sec).

The guests were Flying Dragon, Nick and Bandaraya. Missing guest was Dennis Choo.

Interhash Sec made the announcements. He also said that 27 registered for the Jantan Jerantut Celebration run last weekend. But only 4 turned up at the run. This is not a good thing, in fact rude, as the hosts would have prepared for our 27. Members, please take note.

The bomoh was Plastic Man. He took full charge with his loud voice and got the session going by asking if anyone knew where next week’s run was to be. John was called up and got a drink because he did not know. Bomoh then asked for those who came in by a different path to the runsite, next to the papered path. Up came Reid, Ah Wah and Super Old Man. Playboy Choo, who has a short memory at this age, had to be reminded to get up on the box as well. Melaka was up. At his run last week, there were many who went up to the food during the circle. Poor chap was up for not being in control. Taking up the Jantan Jerantut absentee issue, bomoh asked for 2 reps among the absentees to be up. Of course no one came up so the list was read and the first available 2 were up. SK ken and Ah Meng. Ah Meng was mumbling that someone had used his name. But he took the drink for that someone. New shoes is always exciting. We had a case this night. Of all the people, Leong. Of all the reasons – he left all his things in the hotel in Jerantut! Must have been quite an event!

From the floor, Don came up and charged Melaka Tey for the hats he gave out last week and creating our very own Midnight Cowboy, Barry! He was wearing that hat.

Russell was late starting the run but he met 3 ‘pussies’ on the way back. These guys did not want to cross that dangerous stream! Up were Eddie, Walter and Henry. Then again someone else had ‘new shoes’. Kau Peng Yap borrowed a pair from Russell. He was around but knowing what was to come, he seemed to have left just in time to avoid the box. Of course, Choo was up in his place. Dr. Wong upset Russell for using his car as a waste bin, throwing a wrapper in it! Melaka Tey was the stand in.

Mountain Goat charged Barry again because he was in full kit. In addition to the hat, he had dapper boots on. Truly a Midnight Cowboy!

Steven Leong got in a last charge on the On Sec for having a handphone conversation on the run. Some guys do not understand that On Sec still has to work to pay his subs.!

The hare then announced the On On as being at the YY Restaurant nearby and the pack were all off.

Thanks to the hare for the run and the On On.
