One of the most promising organists of her generation, Chelsea Chen has electrified audiences throughout the United States, Europe, Australia, and Asia in venues such as Singapore’s Esplanade, Hong Kong’s Cultural Centre, Kishinev’s National Organ Hall, and Philadel- phia’s Kimmel Center. As a composer she is broadening the classical organ repertoire with her own works based on Asian folksongs. Ms. Chen has soloed with orchestras throughout the world including the Wuhan Philharmonic in China, the Jakarta Simfonia in Indonesia, and the Juilliard Percussion Orchestra in Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall. Committed to new music, she has premiered works by compos- ers throughout the world including Teddy Niedermaier (USA), Ola Gjeilo (Norway/USA), Jordan Kuspa (USA), Yui Kitamura (Japan/USA), Paul Desenne (Venezuela), Roderick Gorby (USA), and Andreas Kleinert (Germany). Ms. Chen has received acclaim as a composer since she premiered her own Taiwanese Suite (2003) and Tableaux (2007) at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion. Recently her solo organ pieces have been performed in Canada and Taiwan, and her most recent concerto, Jasmine Fantasy (for violin, organ, and strings), has been performed by orchestras in the United States, China, and Indonesia. Her solo organ works were featured at the 2011 Region I/II and IV Conventions of the American Guild of Organists. The recipient of the 2009 Lili Boulanger Memorial Award and winner of the 2005 Augustana/Reuter National Organ Competition, Ms. Chen is a graduate of Juilliard, where she received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. She was also a full scholarship recipient at Yale University, where she earned an Artist Diploma. Her major organ teachers include Thomas Murray, John Weaver, Paul Jacobs, Monte Maxwell, and Leslie Robb, and her primary piano teachers include Baruch Arnon, Jane Bastien, and Lori Bastien Vickers. Ms. Chen has recorded multiple CDs: Reveries (2011) at Bethel University, Live at Heinz Chapel at the 2005 Convention of the American Institute of Organbuilders, and Treasures from the East with violinist Lewis Wong in 2010. Her playing has been aired on CNN.com, “Pipedreams” from American Public Media, Hawaii Public Radio, and Taiwan’s Good News Radio. Her compositions are exclusively available from Wayne Leupold Edi- tions, Inc. She performs regularly with German violinist Viviane Waschbüsch (VivaChe Duo) and harpist and designer Arielle (Duo Mango). She represents the store in workshops at AGO chapters throughout the country, most recently in Napa Valley and in Memphis. She is also the interim organist at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Nashville, and a current member of the Nashville AGO Executive Board. She has extensive experience as an accompanist for all sorts of choral groups, including 10 years with the Nashville Symphony Chorus. She was organist at St. George’s Church, Nashville, for many years. Her organ teachers include Warren Hutton at the University of Ala- bama and Peter Hurford in Cambridge, UK. She also studied choral conducting with Sandra Willetts.

ANTHONY WILLIAMS is Associate Professor of Music and University Organist at Fisk University, Nashville and Organist/Choir Director at First Presbyterian Church, Hendersonville. He has also served on the faculty at Dillard University, New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Williams began his teach- ing career at Fisk in the late 1980s where he served as Director of the Fisk Jubilee Singers® and was the youngest person to hold that position. Anthony holds degrees from the University of Cincinnati, the University of Michigan, and the American Conservatory of Music. Principal teachers include Robert Glasgow, Marilyn Mason, David Mulbury, Peter Fyfe, and Paul Jordan.

SECRETARY CANDIDATES

HILDEGARD COX served as the chair for the Facilities Committee for the National AGO Convention in 2012. She has worked professionally as a church musician all through her adult life and is presently serving as Organist/Choirmaster at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, Franklin, Tennessee. Her music degrees are all in organ performance. She finished her MA (1987) at the University for Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, Austria and earned the DMA (1999) at the University of Southern Mississippi. Hildegard and her husband, Allan Cox, have performed trumpet and organ concerts together in the United States, Europe, and Japan. Their Trumpet and Organ CD,Hymnus, was released in 2011 through Mark Records.

DAWN SEIDENSCHWARZ has been a member of Nashville AGO since 1992. She works at Lois Fyfe Music and is Organist and Choir Director at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Nashville, and Choir Ac- companist for the Cathedral of the Incarnation, Nashville. Dawn has a Bachelor of Music degree from Middle Tennessee State University where she studied with Polly Brecht. She has the AGO Service Play- ing and Colleague certificates. Dawn has served the Nashville Chapter in the past as a member of the Executive Board and as Secretary.

TREASURER CANDIDATE

GARY SCOTT attended his first AGO convention in Chattanooga in 1969. In addition to the Nash- ville Chapter, he has also been a member of chapters in Chattanooga and Baton Rouge. Gary is cur- rently ONCARD Liaison for the Nashville Chapter and is also serving his first year as Treasurer. He was Secretary and Assistant Registrar for the AGO 2012 Convention Steering Committee and served as Chair of the Nashville Chapter’s Finance Committee from 2007-2012. Gary retired in 2012 from the Information Systems Division of the Tennessee Secretary of State, where he worked as Information Systems Manager. He has served as organist and choir director at churches in Louisiana and Tennessee. He is currently Organist at First Presbyterian Church, Lebanon, having been in that position since 2002. Gary studied organ with Richard J. Heschke at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, graduating with B.M. and M.M. degrees in organ performance. EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE CANDIDATES

ALLISON BOCCIA-WILLIAMS recently retired from teaching music at Lundahl Middle School and McHenry County College in Crystal Lake, Illinois. She was the Director of Music/Organist at Bethany Lutheran Church in Crystal Lake for 19 years. Allison holds the Bachelor of Science degree in Mu- sic Education from Concordia College in Bronxville, New York, the Master of Music degree in Music Education from the Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C., and the Performer’s Certificate in organ from Northern Illinois University. Allison is a Colleague of the AGO (CAGO) and the former secretary of the Chapter for 12 years. Allison resides with her husband, Dr. Anthony Williams, in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

MELISSA EMERSON is the Director of Music Ministries at Calvary United Methodist Church, Nash- ville. She moved here three years ago to accept this position, having served in various United Methodist churches in , Maryland, Columbus, Ohio, and her hometown of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, for over 15 years. Her undergraduate degree is in Horn Performance from the University of Iowa. Her graduate degree is a Master of Sacred Music from Boston University School of Theology. While she does not play organ professionally, she is a big fan of organ music. She would consider it an honor to serve as a board member of the Nashville AGO.

A native of Huntingdon, Tennessee, DAKOTA HILL is currently pursing the Master of Music in Music Education degree from Belmont University in Nashville. He is currently Organist of First Presbyterian Church, Columbia, as well as accompanist for the Belmont Chorale and Belmont Women’s Choir. Since moving to Middle Tennessee in 2011, Dakota has been an active member of the Nashville AGO chapter. A 2014 graduate of Martin Methodist College, Pulaski, Tennessee, Dakota received the Bachelor of Arts in Church Music degree and studied organ with Cheryl Wood. While at Belmont, he has studied organ with Andrew Risinger and carillon with Dr. Richard Shadinger.

MICHAEL P. SNODDY currently serves as the Director of Music and Organist for First Presbyterian Church of Franklin, Tennessee, and is a recipient of the Master of Music Degree in organ performance from the University of North Texas. He has performed numerous programs and also produced a CD recording, Immortal, Invisible, a portion of which was featured on a nation-wide broadcast of Ameri- can Public Media’s Pipedreams. Michael is also a winner in the 26th annual William C. (Bill) Hall pipe organ competition, a statewide event sponsored by First Presbyterian Church, San Antonio, Texas.

ERIC WYSE served as Organist/Choirmaster at St. Bartholomew’s Church, Nashville, (1994-2013). Other positions include Director of Music, St. Michael’s Church, Charleston, South Carolina (2013- 2014), and Director of Music, St. John’s Anglican Church, Franklin, (2011-13, 2014-15). He is an adjunct professor at Trevecca University, teaching hymnology during Spring 2016. He was the editor of The Christian Life Hymnal(Hendrickson, 2006). Several of his hymns are found in Baptist Hymnal (LifeWay), Hymns for a Pilgrim People (GIA), and Rejoice Hymns (Majesty Music). In 2007, he produced a recording of Handel’s Messiah with John Rutter, Cambridge Singers, and Royal Philharmonic Orches- tra. Eric studied organ at Cedarville University, completing his studies at Belmont University. He holds a Master of Church Music from Lee University.
