12th Grade Drama Performances – April 16, 18

Seniors will perform their plays in the Michele Davis Theater, 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm.

Machinal is an Expressionism play and like nothing you’ve seen before. It’s about a young woman who works as a low-level stenographer and lives with her mother. She follows the rituals that society expects of a woman, however resistant she may feel about them.

Saint Joan is a play by George Bernard Shaw about 15th century French military figure Joan of Arc. The play dramatizes what is known of her life based on the substantial records of her trial.

Hope to see everyone out at the Michele Davis Theatre on those nights!

Chandler Prep Volunteer Daybreak Gathering Postponed to May 16

The new date for the Chandler Prep Volunteer Daybreak Gathering is Thursday, May 16 at 8:30 am in the Chandler Prep Library. Be sure to RSVP to Mrs. Drennan by Friday, May 10.

Arizona Youth Leadership Forum

A life-changing experience for students and young adults who have disabilities who are experiencing transition to adulthood. Develop leadership and self-advocacy skills at the Arizona Youth Leadership Form (AZYLF), a 5-day summer conference for youth who have disabilities. Applications are due by April 30, 2019. There is no cost to participate in AZYLF. For more information, read the AZYLF Flyer.

Class of 2020 Senior Trip Meeting – April 17

Parents of 2020 Seniors! Please come to an informational meeting regarding our annual Washington DC trip. There are great changes regarding our trip, and we would like for you to be in the know! Great Hearts Elite Choirs Concert – April 26

Chandler Prep's Select Choir will gather with other Great Hearts Prep School Elite Choirs and rehearse/perform a concert of music for the community. The concert will consist of individual school performances plus all choirs uniting to perform 4 excellent pieces directed by Mr. Jeff Harris, one of the most well-known former HS directors and clinicians in the State (he is retiring this year from directing my adult choir, the Sonoran Desert Chorale, so we are really fortunate to have him with our students for this event).

You are invited! The concert is Friday, April 26 at 7:30 PM at Camelback Bible Church, right across from Phoenix Country Day School. Free admission for all.

Chandler Prep Blood Drive, Sign Up Now – May 1

Chandler Prep is hosting a life-saving blood drive on Wednesday, May 1st from 7:30 to 10:30 in the morning. To sign up for an appointment, or to ask any questions, email Mrs. McCord at [email protected].

2020 Senior Trip Fundraising: 50/50 Raffle

There is only one month left to purchase 50/50 Raffle Tickets from members of the Class of 2020 (Junior Class) with proceeds going toward their Senior Trip. Tickets are $10 each, with a weekly second chance raffle provided by the raffle sponsor, Mr. Rich Iwanski. If you would like to purchase tickets, please see any member of the Junior Class. The 50/50 Drawing will be held May 20th.

Class of 2020 Private Screening of Avengers: Endgame – May 2

Tickets on sale NOW for The Class of 2020 private screening fundraiser of Avengers: Endgame at the Harkins Chandler Fashion Center on Thursday, May 2 at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $12, with festival seating. Doors will open at 6:30. There will not be any previews, so the movie will begin promptly at 7:00 PM.

The RMACAC College Fair provides an opportunity for colleges and universities from throughout the country to meet with prospective students. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. • Students should sign up now for their free Strive Scan barcode. • It takes only two minutes to complete. • Students will get a report the next day of all the colleges they visited with at the fair. • Students can use their barcode at any fair that uses Strive Scan. • More than 100 colleges and universities will be in attendance • The college fair is free to attend. • Free parking at ASU is available for the fair. Sports Physicals for 2019-20 – May 18

All HS & MS students who are planning on playing a sport next year, get your physical here at Chandler Prep on May 18th. This physical will be good for all of the 19-20 school year. Get it done now and don’t worry about it next year. This is also a great way to help Chandler Prep athletics, as we receive ½ payment of each physical given. More information in the Sports Physical Day Flyer.

Middle School Spring Football Camp

There will be a spring football camp, May 6-18, for any current 4th-8th grader interested in playing football for Chandler Prep middle school for the 2019-2020 school year. Any scholar athlete intending to play on the Middle School tackle or flag team may participate. Practice times will be firm by May 1, 2019. Note: 8th graders that want to play high school football need to practice with the middle school until school is out.
