Doctoral candidate (m/f/d)

(salary according to E13 TV-L, 75 % ) starting immediately until 30.06.2023. The position is part of a third party funded project on the topic of model research for dynamic stall.

Project description: The joint project researches the behavior of aerodynamic wind turbine profiles in dynamic stall conditions. Within this scope, comprehensive investigations of the dynamic flow behavior shall be performed in numerical fluid dynamic simulations (computational fluid dynamics, CFD).

Recruitment requirement is an academic university degree (Master / Diploma) in Physics, Meteorology, , Aerospace Engineering or comparable Engineering Sciences.

Relevant experience in the field of wind energy, aerodynamics, programming and CFD simulations are paramount. Familiarity with simulations of aerodynamic profiles with CFD, preferably using the CFD code OpenFOAM, as well as basic knowledge of turbulence modeling and programming skills in C++ are advantageous. Good communication skills and proficient English skills (written and spoken) are expected as well as the ability to work collaboratively.
