Our Roles for you to choose from

Visitor Services Assistants – Admissions (Ticketing) Based at , or HM Tower of London

Whether you are based at the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace or Kensington Palace, you will be joining a dedicated Admissions team with a real flair for outstanding customer service, welcoming visitors to these magnificent historic sites.

Selling tickets, guidebooks and promoting membership to our visitors, you will ensure that they all receive a warm and friendly welcome, whilst providing them with everything they need to ensure they enjoy their visit to the full.

As part of the Tower of London team, you will be a welcoming presence on Tower Hill and at the entrance, directing and engaging with our visitors, answering questions and helping to enrich their experience.

As part of the Hampton Court Palace team, you will provide a similar welcoming presence from other locations around the palace grounds including the magic garden and the famous maze, again answering questions but also helping manage crowd control in some very popular and busy attractions.

You will need to be a team player, who is used to a busy working environment and can remain calm under pressure.

Retail Sales Operations Assistants Based at HM Tower of London or Kensington Palace

If retail is your thing and sales is in your blood, you could join us and provide an unforgettable experience for our customers whilst also working as a team to hit our sales targets and maximise our ability to fund and support the charity through this critical and key revenue source.

These roles provide the opportunity to make this palace an unforgettable, special and unique retail experience for every single customer. As well as providing outstanding service and advice to our customers, you will ensure the smooth operation of the shop and respond promptly and flexibly to customer needs.

You will be punctual, proactive and enthusiastic and will relish the challenge of working as part of a busy and professional retail team who are highly committed to customer care.

Duties will include, cash handling, stock handling, health and safety monitoring and reporting, security of the shop floor, keeping the shop floor clean and tidy and presenting merchandise.

State Apartment Warder (Front of House Customer Services and Security Assistant) Based at Hampton Court Palace

With over half a million visitors to Hampton Court Palace every year, your main role will be to help ensure that everyone feels welcomed as a guest with individual needs.

Based around the palace on routes and at key busy visitor interaction points, you will be a passionate storyteller with the ability to bring history to life for our visitors by sharing fascinating stories and facts about the palaces and its past.

You will be able to balance this with your responsibility for maintaining the security of precious artifacts and exhibits within the palace, and the safety of the public.

Tower of London Warden (Front of house Customer Services and Security Assistant) Based at HM Tower of London

It’s hard to imagine a time when the Tower of London wasn’t as welcoming as it is today. But it’s precisely because of its fascinating past that this magnificent historical building draws so many visitors from around the world each year. From the Jewels to the medieval stories and todays military ceremonial parades, you can be a part of this exciting setting that attracts nearly 3 million people a year.

In this role you will contribute to the security and visitor experience of the inner most buildings within the Tower. A key point of contact for nearly every visitor that comes to through the door.

Your role will focus on the needs of each visitor, in order to enhance their visitor experience and a royal welcome with brilliant memories.

You will do this by helping them to explore and understand the stories and histories connected with the White Tower and as well as other associated exhibits around the Tower of London.

Duties will also include crowd control, participating in emergency procedures such as fire evacuation, safeguarding, health, giving tours and safety inspections as well as regular patrols and checks of your areas of responsibility. Kew Host (Front of house Customer Services and Security Assistant) Based at

With four unique sites in Kew Gardens, including , the Royal Kitchens, and the recently restored, iconic, Great Pagoda.

Telling the story of Georgian royal life at Kew, these buildings draw visitors from across the world. Bring their colourful history to life in this costumed role, and you will create a unique and memorable experience for all.

Working around the different buildings at Kew you will be enthusiastic, welcoming, engaging and knowledgeable, with a talent for bringing the stories and characters of Georgian Kew to life. Tasks will be as diverse as conducting daily guided tours, selling tickets to the Great Pagoda, or promoting the membership scheme.

Security is also of great importance and you will a close eye on the buildings and contents. However, beyond all else the role demands a positive attitude, an exceptional level of customer service and the ability to use your initiative, whilst working in a close-knit team.

It is also important to note that it is a physically demanding role, you will be required to work across all sites, and the Great Pagoda alone has 253 steps to climb.

Explainer (Front of house Customer Services and Security Assistant) Based at Kensington Palace

As one of Kensington Palace’s Explainers you will help our visitors explore the birthplace of and the home to generations of royals for over 300 years.

Based around the palace on exhibition routes and at key busy visitor interaction points you will be there to provide a proactive, engaging and outgoing experience, you will bring the palace to life by sharing fascinating and factual stories about the palace and its residents. This will involve delivering introductory history talks (5-10 minutes) and tours.

You will also be responsible for maintaining the security of the palace and its collections.
