From I-80: Use Exit 161, south on Rt. 220, then Exit 73 to east on Rt. 322 bypass (*) left onto Rt. 45 East for approximately 8 miles, then left onto Homan Lane to Gate # 4 entrance of Fairgrounds. to the right side of fairgrounds. NOTE: For downtown State College, use Rt. 26, then east on Rt. 322 (business) to left on Rt. 45 East (Earlystown Road) to fairgrounds. OR From West - 80 E to Woodland Exit 123 then 322E toward State College to I99/US-322E Bus. Then 322E to Old Fort exit (Rt 45E) left onto Earlystown Road, approximately 8 mi, left onto Homan Lane to Fairgrounds. From the South: (Altoona) Take I-99/Rt. 220 North to Rt. 322 East, then from (*) as above.

Best Owner-Handled in Show Competition National Owner-Handled Series The AKC Owner/Handled Series is a non-titling competition for dogs that are exhibited by their owners who are not professional handlers. This series of special competitions will be offered at dog shows across the country. All dogs that are owner/handled and are not owned or exhibited by professional handlers' meet the requirements for this competition. Exhibitors must declare their dog is Owner/Handler eligible at the time of entry using the check box on the entry form. Eligible dogs will be identified by an asterisk in the steward's book and the catalog. Dogs must be handled throughout the competition by an eligible owner. Professional handlers may not exhibit the dog in this competition. The Owner Handled Best of Breed will be selected from the dogs that are eligible to compete in the Best of Breed competition including Winners Dog, Winners Bitch and winners of the non-regular classes. ! If the Best of Breed/Variety winner is Owner-Handled competition eligible, it will automatically be Owner Handled Best of Breed/Variety and be eligible to compete in both the regular as well as the Owner- Handled Group. ! If the Best of Breed/Variety winner is Owner-Handled competition ineligible and the Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety will compete against the eligible undefeated exhibits of the owner sex to determine Owner-Handled Best of Breed/Variety. ! If the Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed/Variety are both ineligible and Select Dog and Select Bitch are both eligible, the judge is to choose Best Owner-Handled exhibit from the Selects and eligible Winners Dog or Winners Bitch. ! If one of the Selects is eligible, excuse all dogs of the same sex and then choose Best Owner-Handled exhibit from the remaining dogs of the opposite sex including the eligible Winners. ! If Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex to Best of Breed, Select Dog & Select Bitch are ineligible, the judge may choose any eligible dog remaining in the ring including Winners Dog or Winners Bitch as Owner-Handled Best of Breed/Variety. The breed will not be represented in the Owner-Handled Group if there is no eligible dog competing in the Best of Breed or in Best of Winners Competition. *Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers' organization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay or received payment for handling a dog.

7 AKC Sanctioned 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy Competition

One combined class will be offered for breeds and varieties of dogs that are four months and under six months and divided into Groups as described in Chapter 3, Section 1 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows and the Miscellaneous Class breeds as listed in Chapter 3, Section 23. There will be a selection of Best 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy in each Breed/Variety. All Best of Breed Puppy winners will then compete in their respective group for First through Fourth Placements. The Miscellaneous class competition will be judged same as above followed by a Miscellaneous 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy Group Competition. The Foundation Stock Service CLass Competition will be judged same as above followed by a FSS 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy Group Competition. All First Place Group Winners will be eligible to compete in Best 4 & Under 6 Months Puppy in Show. An AKC registration number or AKC litter number will br required for entries of an AKC recognized breed or Miscellaneous breed. FSS number of FSS registered litter number will be required for FSS entries. A foreign born dog may enter this class if they are registered in the country of orgin. Dogs must be four months of age and under six months. Dogs are required to be vaccinated in accordance with their veterinarian's protocol in order to avoid inadvertent transmission of illness by/to not yet fully immunized. Dogs that are owned or co-owned by a professional handler may compete in this class but must be handled by a non-professional handler. Professional handlers are defined as any person who belongs or has belonged to a professional handlers' oprganization, distributed rate cards, or otherwise advertised or represented themselves as handling dogs for pay within the last five years. Dogs may not be exhibited by current assistants or household members of a professional handler. A current assistant is defined as anyone employed by a professional handler on a full-time basis, or, assisting a professional handler at the show or any show during the cluster/weekend. AKC Rules in Dealing with Misconduct will be applicable to any person and dog entered at this competition. All applicable rules found in Rules Applying to Dog Shows will govern the conduct of this competition unless these regulations state otherwise. Exhibitors should plan on opening the mouth of their puppy for th judges. disqualifications such as color, height, weight or dentition shall not be a point of consideration in the judging process for this 4-6 month Puppy Special Attraction event.

14 A judge requesting the use of a ramp must give notice to the show superintendent/show secretary prior to judging. AKC approval is not required. The entire entry in a breed is to be examined in the same manner (ground, table, or ramp).

Ramps can be used in emergency situation to judge any breed.

NO REFUND FOR DUPLICATE ENTRIES. We will make every effort to find all duplicate entries, but if a dog has been processed, no refund will be made. CONSULT JUDGING PROGRAM FOR TIME OF JUDGING. DOGS MAY ARRIVE any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. DOGS NOT REQUIRED for further judging will be excused. JUDGES WILL NOT WAIT FOR ANY DOG HOLDING UP A CLASS. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging ring when their classes are called to be judged. The show-giving club and the superintendent have no obligation or responsibility for providing service through a public address system or stewards or runners for the purpose of calling or locating dogs that are not brought into the ring when required. ALL DOGS PRESENT must be held on leash or confined to their crates except when being judged or when in the exercising ring. CLASS CASH PRIZES will be paid in the ring to the person showing the dog. Claims for prize money must be made in the ring before the judging of that breed is over, and the Superintendent to be advised at once. The Superintendent and Show-giving Club may disclaim any liability for cash prizes after the judging of the breed is over. THE SHOW COMMITTEE/SUPERINTENDENT will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, nor assume any liability in the event of an accident or misfortune to either dogs or exhibitors participating in this show. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for a show closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any show for which entries closed after the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recorded in his name.
