MORLEY, MICH. (MORLEY STANWOOD) 34 HIGH SCHOOL Earned four letters at Morley Stanwood High School (‘12) for coach Bob Raven ... finished as the school’s all-time leading scorer, with 1,663 career points ... helped the Mohawks Cairnduff to state championships in both volleyball and basketball in her senior year ... a Class C First-Team All-State selection as a senior ... named one of the 10 ‘Best of the Best’ players in the state, regardless of division, by the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan in both her junior and senior seasons ... averaged double digits in scoring in all four years as the Mohawks went undefeated in the Central State Athletic Association in every year ... team posted an overall four-year mark of 101-4 ... averaged 17 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals per game as a senior, helping MSHS to a 28-0 mark and that state title ... earned all-conference first-team honors as well as all-state accolades in each of her four years ... had 19.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 3.2 steals per outing as a junior ... scored 14 ppg as a sophomore and 12.5 ppg as a freshman, averaging six rebounds per game in both years ... named the Big Rapids Pioneer Dream Team Player of the Year in each of her last three seasons, and was named to the Dream Team in all four years ... earned a total of 10 letters, including four in volleyball and two in track ... was a first-team all-state selection in volleyball ... The Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association has become the 2nd largest high school coaches’ association in the country. Coaches, national speakers, and vendors from all over the country feel that the Ohio High School Coaches Association Clinic is one of the best in the entire country. One of my favorite quotes comes from one of this year’s clinicians; John Cohen from Mississippi St. John speaks all over the country at not only big national conventions, but small ones too. He said, “Looking forward to seeing you at the clinic. You guys are first class and run an incredible clinic.” My hope is that you will feel the same after this weekend. I would also like to take time to welcome you to the Hyatt Regency, “Downtown Columbus”, and our home for the next few days. What an outstanding and first-class setting for one of the premiere high school coaches’ clinics. Please feel free to let any of the OHSBCA Board members or I know if we can personally help or assist you in any way this weekend while here at the clinic, or throughout the year. Waite senior golfer Tom Duris is named City League Player of the Year for the second straight season, but both golfers narrowly miss qualifying for the state golf meet. Lake golfer Matt Smith is named SLL Golfer of the Year. Another Waite athlete, Jeff Brown, advanced to the City League championship in first singles tennis, losing in the final. • Clay senior Alison Zsigray, Clay sophomore Kirsten Zsigray, Eastwood junior Amy Myers, Oak Harbor junior Katie Bechtel, and two Oak Harbor relay teams (400 and 200 freestyle—sophomore Jenna Diekman, junior Samantha Reynolds, freshman Allie Reynolds, sophomore Olivia Porter) qualify for the state swim meet in Canton. • Clay softball coach Brenda Radabaugh gets 300th career win in a 14-4 romp over defending Northern Lakes League champion Anthony Wayne at Pacesetter Park. After another win, Radabaugh was 301- 118 for her career (includes a stint at Central Catholic) midway through the 2008 season, and her Clay teams won three consecutive City League titles and three Great Lakes League titles.
