When does Days at Haas Begin? Days at Haas (DAH) officially begins on Thursday, February 7 at 5:00 pm with a welcome reception and dinner at the University Club in Memorial Stadium, just across the street from Haas (on Piedmont Ave). Some student organizations may host an optional pre-reception earlier that day from 3:30 - 4:30 pm. They will reach out to you directly with details.

Where is Days at Haas being held? Most events occur on the Haas campus located at 2220 Piedmont Avenue, Berkeley. Thursday’s welcome reception is at the University Club in Memorial Stadium, located directly across the street from Haas on Piedmont Avenue. Directional signs and volunteers will show you where to go. Friday will begin in the Forum at Haas for registration. Other programming will take place in various locations at Haas. Saturday events begin in Spieker Forum, in Chou Hall at the Haas Campus followed by optional events in Sonoma, or Berkeley.

Can my partner/spouse also attend Days at Haas? Yes! Partners are invited to all of the events on Thursday and Saturday. On Friday, partners can join for the morning events, then The Partners Club will host a lunch and housing tour from approximately 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Partners will then rejoin the admitted students at 4:00 pm for the Amazing Race activity and the remaining evening agenda. Additional details will be provided.

What if I can’t attend the entire event? While we encourage admitted students to attend the entire event, we understand that this may not be possible due to personal or professional conflicts. You may attend any portion of Days at Haas and can indicate your intentions when registering online.

What is the recommended attire? Business casual is appropriate for Thursday. Casual attire is recommended for Friday and Saturday. (Be sure to wear comfortable shoes for the Amazing Race and the Saturday treks.)

What activities are planned for Days at Haas? We strive to give you a glimpse into life as a Berkeley Haas MBA student and have organized several activities that reflect the academic, professional & social elements of Haas. You will have opportunities to interact with students, faculty, alumni, staff, and other admitted students & their partners.

How do I pay for the Saturday afternoon activities? The Saturday beer and wine country trips require a nominal fee to supplement the food, beverage and transportation costs. Payment must be received by Saturday, February 9, and can be made online. Additional details will be shared as the day approaches. Remember to bring your valid driver’s license or passport for entrance into the wineries and/or bar!

Where can I store my luggage? We will have space for you to store your luggage throughout Days at Haas. On Saturday, if you partake in the beer or wine trip, your luggage must be brought with you on the bus.

What other activities do you recommend in Berkeley or the surrounding area? The Haas Student Ambassadors would be happy to recommend their favorite activities, restaurants or bars. Popular restaurants include Zachary’s, Jupiter, Cheese Board, Kirala and Revival Bar & Kitchen. Options that are walking distance from Haas include Freehouse and Henry’s. Getting Here

How do I get to Haas? The street address for the Haas School of Business is: 2220 Piedmont Ave Berkeley, CA 94720 Uber or Lyft is most convenient for traveling in Berkeley. Most hotels will be within a $10-15 fare of campus.

Public Transportation  BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit): Take a Richmond-bound BART train to the Downtown Berkeley station. From the station, it’s a 20-25 minute (uphill) walk to Haas. BART is easily accessible from both San Francisco Airport (SFO) and Oakland Airport (OAK).  Shuttles/taxis: Available from the San Francisco Airport (SFO) or the Oakland Airport (OAK).  AC Transit Bus Service: Provides bus transportation to, from San Francisco, Berkeley, and throughout Alameda and Western Contra Costa County. There are several AC bus lines that come near the campus area.

Parking Complimentary parking is available in the Public Parking Garage at 2175 Piedmont Avenue across the street from Haas (beneath the sports field). Take a ticket upon entering and park in any unreserved space. Vouchers will be provided to use upon exit. Please do not use any other lot as we only have validations for this garage.

Accommodations

Hotels and AirBnB’s Nearby hotels include Bancroft Hotel, Graduate Berkeley, and Hotel Shattuck Plaza, which are all within walking distance to Haas. A list of additional hotel options in the area are found online at UC Berkeley Visitor Services. You may also choose to stay in San Francisco and catch BART to Berkeley. Note that Haas is a 20-minute uphill walk from the Downtown Berkeley BART station. Airbnb are becoming another popular option, and there are available options on the website.
