Figure A highlights the application of A-Leen 5 in comparison with Ethanol as solvent for the extrac- tion of peppermint leaves. For each extraction, 10 g of plant materials were suspended in 50 g of extraction solvent. The mixtures were heated and stirred at 75-80°C for 15 minutes. After cooling, the solid constituents were fi ltered off and the fi ltrates were analyzed by HPLC. In conclusion, A-Leen 5 and Ethanol showed comparable performances as extraction solvents.
