Massey named Voyager manager Former JPLer Thomas on way to Mir Ed Massey has been named pro­ ject manager of JPL's Voyager Interstellar Mission. He replaces George Textor, who retired Dec. 31. Massey is also project manager of the Ulysses mission to the sun. The Ulysses and Voyager missions will be managed under the same office. A JPL employee since 1987, Massey has managed Ulysses since 1996. Prior to his JPL career, he held a number of increasingly responsible positions within the U.S. Air Force, the last of which was director of space test operations for the Air Force's Operational Test and Evaluation Center.
